Gossip Girl Season 1
PART ONE- SEASON ONE
I've loved Gossip Girl right from go and i've been totally obsessed with it from the moment Kristen loceng said, "You Know anda Cinta Me" for the very first time. I've even found myself Penulisan peminat fiction as i've always had a burning passion for Penulisan movie scripts, so combining my two passions together and there anda have it...Gossip Girl fanfic!
Anyway...
So im going to try and be as neutral as possible about the characters and story lines, but im not sure i'll be able to hide my passion for my favourite characters, so i apologise beforehand if i glorify my favourite characters...
So lets start from the very beginning. My first impressions.
I have to say i immediately loved Serena, as soon as Kristen loceng introduced her i thought yes! A bad girl gone good? She looks like fun! Then i saw Blair Waldorf...the first thing she does is tries to have sex with a hunk, who we now know as Nate Archibald!
I remember thinking she was so desperate, but i forgave her for it because she was so beautiful. Nate was a bit cute and innocent, like a anjing, anak anjing dog. Especially when he was after Serena.
Ok so, at that party Chuck had like one line, but the way he held that glass and breathed those words...oh my, he blew me away...i knew right then that he was my future husband....ok well my favourite guy on the show! He was incredibly hot!
Then came Serena's entrance...the way it all played out, was a bit predictable, anda immediately know that Nate and Serena have a history. It made me feel sorry for Blair.
Then anda have the Humphrey's. Dan was of course cute...Jenny had all the signs of an annoying little sister in the making! I loved Rufus, he was such a cool dad, and pretty hot for his age!
The whole Eric situation made me like Serena even more, and kind of made Lilly seem really cold...but anyway... I guess the Pilot pretty much set the scene perfectly. All the characters were likeable, even the rapist that Chuck was back then!
Let The Games Begin...
Ok so the plot thickens and we get this Serena, Blair frenemy war...which eventually ends in what we all kinda hoped for, friendship. They make up in the end it made me happy to see them friends.
This is where we get that first hint of the Blair and Chuck chemistry...who could forget their moment in Blair's bedroom where Chuck teasingly asks her "so this is your bed?"...It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, there was none other like it and hasn't been since. Looking back, I know that's one thing about Gossip Girl that I miss...Chuck and Blair scheming together.
So season one then carries on with the Blair/Nate will they atau wont they, Blair/Serena will they atau wont they, Dan/Serena will they atau wont they, Lily/Rufus will they atau wont they, and of course Blair/Chuck will they atau wont they(oh please do!)....what do we end up with?
Serena and Dan get together, break up, get together and break up...in between we are introduced to Vanessa Abrams, Dan's best friend...after she get's over Dan she kinda grows on me as a character but that eventually turns to dust as I no longer see why she should be on the show- apologies to Vanessa shippers! The Serena/Dan story also brings Georgina Sparks to our screens, a long Lost friend of Serena who just so happens to be a wild child and manages to drag Serena down with her...she hooks up with Dan as an alter-ego but in the end is disposed of thanks to some cute teamwork involving Dan, Chuck and Blair....another chance to see the schemers at work!
Blair and Nate dont exactly get off easy either....their break up, get back together and then break up involved Blair losing her virginity to Nate's best friend Chuck Bass? WHY!? Well because he's Chuck Bass, of course...who could resist. Well it was pretty clear that after a sexy strip tease Chuck wasn't going to let Blair go utama without some sex in the back of his limo....and it didnt stop there. They continued a secret Cinta affair until Blair got back with Nate and this is what really kept me watching the show....the scenes that Chuck and Blair shared were way to quick and short for my liking, especially whilst Dan and Serena were getting quite boring. This mixed up quite well with Jenny's mission to dethrone Queen B, could she ever? I dont think so! But it was quite entertaining to watch her try!
Not only were there some memorable scenes, but Gossip Girl managed to find some pretty fitting Muzik to go with it...i find myself burning plenty of CD's with OMFGG (Official Muzik Feat on Gossip Girl) just so i can blast them in my car...so anda can imagine Gossip Girl is on my mind pretty much all the time! No one can deny how Sum 41-With Me was perfect for the Blair/Chuck limo scene...those Rama-rama from Chuck's stomach definitely found there way into mine whilst watching the many wonderful scenes they shared together...!
That reminds me, another inanimate character on the show...FASHION! Ok so other than Gossip Girl, Fashion is probably a hidden central theme that doesn't go unnoticed! Blair and Serena are the most fashionable, their outfits are always incredible so kudos to the costume department...on the male front, Nate always seems to wear the same stuff, so Chuck wins for me...he always looks hot in anything, from the chequered jumpers to the purple outfits..oh and who could forget his signature scarf...that thing is a character in itself, i mean it must have seen some good times and have many secrets! Talking of signature accessories, i find myself wearing lebih headbands than i have ever done before! Im sure im not the only girl guilty of following Blair's style...headbands are back in fashion! Another cute thing i'd like to point out is how Blair/Chuck always wear matching outfits...it's the cutest thing ever...my favourite from Season 1 has to be Desperately Seeking Serena- those orange/yellow matching outfits were so happy and colourful, they looked so cute! It's another one of those funny jokes/trivia that the peminat-peminat can share with Gossip Girl...that's another thing I Cinta about Gossip Girl...the tunjuk (including actors and producers) have such a special relationship with the fans...they put things in the tunjuk that they know only the peminat-peminat would understand...like the matching outfits...it's like a hidden message only the peminat-peminat could notice...as if to say "there anda go loyal fans, this is something special for you!"... I Cinta anda STEPHANIE AND JOSH!!!
...Things obviously blow over near the end of the season, well it wouldn't be Gossip Girl if they didnt!
My favourite was the Blair/Serena friendship...we always hope they pull through it in the end and they do..Serena gets this whole new selfless personality and even though i Lost interest in her after her dull relationship shenanigans with Dan, she kinda started growing on me again when she was a good friend to Blair.
Overall, Season 1 ended with me slightly altering my opinions on the characters since my first impression...I still loved Chuck bass though, but maybe a little more!
I have mainly been disappointed in Gossip Girls retention of Vanessa...i mean why do we need her! Why does she hang out at the school sometimes when she doesn't even attend...and no, making stupid documentaries is no excuse!
Jenny has always been annoying...but i guess thats her role...and Eric had his fair share of drama...could he have had lebih air time? Well not everyone can be a major character right? And he did have one major story line and it wasn't that bad.
My favourite storyline from Season One is obviously the Chuck/Blair/Nate story...it was hot, unpredictable at times and it was just so amazing to watch Ed, Chace and Leighton in action because they portray such unique characters and the chemistry they share is so real. I think it helps so much that they are so close in real life because it really shows on screen.
My least favourite was the Serena/Dan/Vanessa story...at the time i loved Dan/Serena so having Vanessa thrown in ruined it for me! Thats the reason i disliked Vanessa, even though i kinda felt sorry for her...im sure we'll see the Dan/Vanessa relationship in the future, it would make sense.
Ok, i haven't forgotten the older characters!
I loved Rufus and Lily...they were meant for each other...seeing lily marry Bart and leave Rufus out in the cold was heartbreaking because it was obvious they were meant to be the moment Lily visited Rufus to tell him to keep Dan away from Serena, in the beginning.
Verdict: Season 1 was amazing...hot, sexy, and unforgettable!
Favourite Character: anda guessed it, Chuck Bass! ....with Blair Waldorf a close second!
Favourite Couple: Chuck/Blair...no duh?!
Favourtie Plot: anda already know it...the Blair/Cuck/Nate Cinta triangle.
Favourite Episode: Oooh tough one! Seventeen Candles atau A Thine Line Between Chuck & Nate
Favourite Scene/s: Ooooh tough one...Chuck/Blair at the wedding, Serena stopping Blair from leaving, Chuck giving Blair her birthday present, the look on Chuck's face during Blair's strip tease! Blair's revenge on Jenny after she mencuri her friends! Dan's wave (in fact all of Dan's funny scenes!)!
Favourite Dialogue: There are so many, but here are a few>>>
Blair: anda sound like a jealous boyfriend.
Chuck: Yeah, right. anda wish.
Blair: No. anda wish.
Chuck: Please. anda forget who you're talking to...
Blair: So do You. Do anda like me?
Chuck: (after a pause) Define like.
Blair: Oh. anda have got to be kidding. I do not believe this.
Chuck: How do anda think I feel? I haven't slept. I feel sick, like there's something in my stomach... fluttering.
Blair: Butterflies? Oh, no, no, no, no. This is not happening.
Chuck: Believe me, no one is lebih surprised, atau ashamed than I am.
Blair: Chuck, anda know that I adore all of God's creatures and the metaphors that they inspire. But, these butterflies? Got to be murdered.
AND >>> Chuck: Why? Are anda having remorse sex fantasies about your ex?
Nate: What? No.
Chuck: Don't eff with an effer. I know that look.
Nate: No, man. It's just everytime I see her lately, something's different. anda know, she's lighter, she's happier. (sighs) She's just less--less Blair.
Chuck: She does have a certain glow about her, doesn't she? (Well duh! It's the effect anda have on her Chuck!)
AND >>>Nate: What, 'cause anda kill people now? anda going to strangle him with your scarf?
Chuck: Don't mock the scarf Nathaniel, it's my signature.
Nate: Just saying, death sejak scarf, not that intimidating,
AND >>>Chuck: anda know, if my dad and your mom come back from South Africa tomorrow engaged we'll be brother and sister. And anda know what they say, the family that plays together stays together.
Serena: Ah. Incest, the universal taboo. One of the, uh, only ones anda haven't violated.
Chuck: I'm game if anda are.
Favourtie OMFGG: Sum 41-With me.
Favourite Friendship: Serena/Blair- the up's, the down's and the wrong way around's! I also kinda like the Dan/Jenny friendship, the only times i actually find Jenny interesting are when her and Dan are there for each other.
Least Favourite Character: Vanessa, with Jenny a close second!
Least Favourite Plot: Vanessa's cringworthy crush on Dan! Jenny's short lived success of ousting Queen B.
