And without having to leave the country, which anyway would be basically the same as hiding.

Making oneself untraceable like Sirius and Voldemort did, would be one good way - though that too of course requires a remarkable amount of hiding, but at least not as much keldai pretending to be ill would. But I'm looking for a way with minimum hiding?

How about if a person moved to another country before that year? As in what if the person is not Brittish anymore but ie. received official status of an American nationality? Rowling has berkata that Hogwarts serves only Britain and Ireland, so perhaps this applies to the "Death Eaters' Hogwarts" too, meaning they wouldn't seek out and draw back forner students who are no longer Brittish/Irish? At least I don't really see why would they bother if the berkata former student didn't have something special that they could use... I mean, I'm now looking for a way to not hide even if having to leave the country.
