Tbh I think people are being overly sensitive again. Seems like everything is offensive or cultural appropriation now days.

^Same. Regarding writing about Native Americans in the context of North American magic, it seems like Jo would be damned if she did and damned if she didn't. If she didn't include them, people would be offended. Now that she HAS included them, people are nitpicking about her use of the phrase "the Native American community" (how else are you meant to refer to native people of America?) or complaining that "She's equating their legends to magic". Memo: that's what she does. She takes un-magical things and makes them magical- one of the greatest aspects of HP is that she didn't create a whole new fantasy universe, but made a fantasy world WITHIN our world. People will find anything to complain about, though.
