	ineedcoffee picked Eastern promises: I wasn't surprised what surprised me was it being nominated for all theother awards shows, and I loved this movie it's just that the awards shows don't usually don't recognize tim burton movies. 	abbibrodie picked Eastern promises: I don't see why Tim Burton deserves an oscar nomination for yet again casting his wife, yet again casting Depp (I swear, almost half of his movies have either Depp or Bonham-Carter in them!), yet again casting Depp as a slightly weird character, yet again over stylizing the movie, yet again mauling a classic piece of literature into a weird twisted vision of his own world. Wow, there's singing. Who cares? I think it's time for Burton to move on already (But that's just my personal opinion, I've got a bit of a thing about originality and progression in a director's work). 'Eastern Promises' on the other hand, that did shock me that it was overlooked. Superbly written, cast, acted and edited amongst other things. Sad. I haven't seen 'I'm Not There' yet, but haven't heard a bad word against it, so it's a shame that it is not up either. posted hampir setahun yang lalu.
