One night, Erin was walking downtown with her band mates and her new dog, Fritz. Suddenly, a boy of a similar age stepped out of the shadows. Erin instantly recognized him. She said, "Hello, Phil." Phil said, "Erin, I never thought I'd see anda again. You're too busy hanging with this Paul guy." She said, "For your information, we happen to be best Friends and band mates." Phil sneered, "Yeah. He's the one who got anda into this devil music." She said, "Paul didn't get me into it. I got into it on my own, and I highly doubt it's devil music, because it brought me and my Friends together, and it saved my life." Phil pulled out a gun and pointed it at Paul. "NO!" Erin cried, and she leaped in the air and pushed Paul out of the way. A shot rang out, and Erin and Paul landed on the concrete. Fritz ran up to Phil and bit his leg. He dropped his gun and ran away. Carl and Lola were in shock. They rushed to Erin and Paul. Lola asked, "Are anda guys okay?" Paul got up and said, "I'm fine, thanks to Erin." Erin was unable to get up. In the light from jalan lamps, they could see a gunshot wound in her upper thigh. Blood was streaming down her leg. Thankfully, the hospital was just across the street. Paul carried her to the hospital. He refused to let go until someone from the hospital took her in. Erin waited anxiously to hear what the doctor was going to say. When he came in, he said, "You're going to be fine. The bullet isn't in very deep. We'll just remove it and send anda home." Once that was done, Erin limped outside, where her band mates and her dog were waiting anxiously. Carl asked, "Are anda going to be all right?" Erin said, "I'm going to be just fine." Paul said, "I'm glad for that. I want to thank anda for saving my life." She said, "You're welcome." Paul carried her home. When they arrived, her aunt and uncle were horrified to see that Erin was hurt. Her aunt asked, "Who did this to you?" Erin replied, "Phil." Her uncle asked, "Why did he do that?" She said, "He wanted to kill Paul, and I took the bullet for him." Paul said, "I'm glad she saved my life, but I wish she didn't have to get hurt doing it." She said, "But I'm alive." He said, "And I'm glad for that." The seterusnya day, when Erin was resting in her bed, her grandmother paid her a visit. She said, "Erin, your aunt just told me what happened. How are anda feeling, dear?" Erin said, "It really hurts when I think about it, which is all the time." Her grandmother said, "I understand that anda took the bullet for your friend, Paul." She said, "Yes, Grandma, I did. Phil wanted to kill him, and I wasn't going to let that happen." Her grandmother said, "I'm very disappointed in Phil. He's become so much like your horrible grandfather. He's not what a Christian should be!" Erin liked this version of her grandmother. "Where was that version of Grandma when Grandpa murdered my father? Where was she when Grandpa murdered Barry and beat me?" Those where the things that Erin wondered, but that wasn't important now. The important thing was the better version of her grandmother was here now.

Una, Everett, and Kaitlyn had makan malam, majlis makan malam at a nice restaurant. As they ate, Una asked, "So, Kaitlyn, what are anda majoring in?" Kaitlyn replied, "Well, I'm a biology major. I'm hoping to be a veterinarian." Una said, "You're an animal lover. That's great!" Kaitlyn said, "Yes, I've always been an animal lover. How about you?" Una replied, "Well, I always wanted a dog, but my mother is highly allergic. With that being said, I'm so busy with acting, I'm not sure I'd have time for one now." Kaitlyn said, "That's true. Anjing do require a lot of attention. I'm hoping to get one after I finish with veterinary school and get lebih settled." Everett smiled as he listened to Una and Kaitlyn's conversation. He was happy to see that they were getting along so well. He thought, This is wonderful. I think it'll work if Una and I decide to get married.

"What do anda mean?" Una once again prepared to listen. Everett replied, "While my immediate family was supportive of my dream to go into film editing, not everyone was kind. Lots of people told me that I couldn't do it: most of my schoolmates, some teachers, even my extended family." She said, "How awful!" He said, "I know, but I didn't let that keep me down. My father even told me that I should go for it, no matter what anyone says. I looked at different film schools, and I got accepted into one that is fairly close to where I grew up. Upon graduating, I started preparing to go to film school. I started that fall, and I got a job at the local makan, kantin to help my parents cover the apartment rent." Una added, "And that's where we met." Everett smiled. "Yes, Una. My life only got brighter from there." She said, "Aw! I say the same to you, Everett." With that, they kissed.
