#1 Rory never made a Jess Ex Box for two reasons. One: it would involve emptying half her books and CDs. Two: she hoped he wouldn’t be an ex for long, and he wasn’t after Lorelai and Luke’s wedding.

#2 Jess never wrote any more novels after The Subsect; he kept to writing short stories because the format suited him better. Rory has a subscription to every literary and short story magazine because she never knew when Jess had a contribution published. It was their way of remaining connected.
