, has been cast as the male lead on Season 2 of ABC’s crime drama.

Per our sister site Deadline, Ealy will play Eric Warner, a well-educated newlywed and heir apparent to his family’s private equity firm in Charlotte, N.C. While Eric is attending a party to honor his dad’s retirement, Eric’s wife, Kate, is murdered — and he must turn to the unflappable Det. Cornell to investigate Kate’s death.

As previously reported, Juliette Lewis’ formidable sleuth will be the only Season 1 character returning for the show’s sophomore run.

didn’t watch the first but i’m a big fan of his so i will have to check this out

will there be other charcters other then Det. Cornell returning for season 2

I just want to know if the actress is capable of doing anything other than scowl – Cornell needs a little variety.

because it was a great show ,i wish ryan could be on also but i plan on watching because it will probably be as good as last season just with different actors

For the same reason that they might watch any previous anthology show that has a primarily new cast each year.

Great choice! A fine actor, he will bring great skill to this show. Can’t wait to see how Juliet Lewis torments this one.

I’d say this is his last chance. If S&L gets canceled after this season, he’ll officially be the new Ted McGinley.

well not really – this is an anthology show and it’s not like it’s been on for a lot of years already. it’s only the 2nd season and Ted lost his show canceller stigma long ago when he joined the cast of Married with Children.

either way this type of a show is just more like a temp job for a guy like Michael Ealy who could easily end up joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe – ie. as the new Blade or some other character.

and really for the Following season 3 – his last show – his role is what gave the final season the creative juice that it needed and if only people that quit after season 2 came back to the show sooner it likely would have been picked up for a 4th season.

Always hoping Almost Human gets picked up, but in the meantime, I’ll watch Ealy on this show. I couldn’t bear to see him as a villain, so I stayed away from The Following, the same thing for James Purefoy.

The first season was great, but this show is dead to me for killing off Ryan Phillippe’s character in the season finale epilogue bonus footage.

He’s this generation Blair Underwood easy on the eye mediorce acting overall blah presentation. Hes like a flash … Blink and hes gone never quite leaving any lasting impression. Boring.

Ironside with Underwood was great! imho. Also, I thought his Dirty Sexy Money role fun to watch, and it was a dirty shame cancellation.

The second season might be better. Will def watch. Season 1 was just so like broadchurch….

He did it. He plays a killer so well. I guess it will take Det Cornell 2 seconds to realize it was him but the whole season to prove it.

Didn’t like him on Being Human but I did like him on the Following. I didn’t watch the first season of the show but I might give the 2nd season a try.
