It was called The Vampire Diaries - Season 6 Episode 3 Review
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Vampire Hunters Are Back – The Vampire Diaries – “Welcome to Paradise” – Season 6 Episode 3
Last week Elena had Alaric wipe her memories of ever being in love with Damon, effectively turning her emotions off.  Since then, Elena is not the same person.  She seems rather happy but something about her character is visibly off, and everyone feels weird around her as they have to pretend they don’t know what really went on in her life over the past several months.  All of Elena’s focus is directed toward being very “college” and partying it up (not to mention flirting with a know-it-all prick named Liam from her med class).  Unfortunately for Caroline, this is part of why she’s been feeling so lonely in her grief.  She can’t even confide in her best friend when the core of Elena’s sadness is gone.
Meanwhile Stefan’s a little ticked, to say the least, that Enzo killed his girlfriend Ivy.  He returns to town will the sole purpose of killing him so he can move on at his crummy auto repair job away from all of his old friends in peace.  He decides to attend Elena’s party at the “watering hole” (aka a lake) when he hears that Enzo will be there.
Matty Blue Eyes brings his friend Jay to the party, only in his drunkenness Jay gets a bit aggressive toward Tyler, who’s been trying to keep his rage in check in order to not trigger the werewolf gene.  Thanks to Matt’s rational thinking, the two calm down and put their fists away.
Stefan finds Enzo in the woods where he attempts to kill him.  Only Matt’s friend Jay arrives with a gun that shoots stakes aimed at Stefan–he’s a vampire hunter under Fell’s little army.  Enzo saves Stefan’s life by tossing a branch in Jay’s chest, but the gesture isn’t enough to keep Stefan from wanting to kill Enzo.
Caroline intervenes.  While Enzo takes Jay’s body away, she and Stefan have a talk.  Caroline opens up and urges him to stay, but Stefan walks away, leaving her crying–
–by her lonesome.  Luckily Elena sees the whole thing and steps in like a best friend should to comfort her.  Later as Caroline moves back in with Elena in the dorm, she confesses that she had feelings for Stefan.  Let’s hope Damon-less Elena is going to be cool with that (I’m leaning toward yes, as she let Liam kiss her at the lake party).
In last week’s episode, Bonnie and Damon discovered that they are not alone in 1994.  While grocery shopping they notice a bag of pork rinds that has been there for the past four months is suddenly missing from the shelf.  Then the carousel outside turns on.  Damon denies that this means they aren’t alone, crushing Bonnie’s grasp on hope, which results in an argument.  After Bonnie storms off Damon returns to the store to comfort himself in a bottle of liquor.
Damon happens upon someone named Kai snacking on the pork rinds in a patio chair next to the liquor aisle.  Kai tells Damon that he’s been following him and Bonnie, watching them live together get into 13 fights.  After claiming he’s there to kill Damon, he shatters the liquor bottles he contaminated with vervaine.  Luckily Bonnie comes to his rescue and is able to preform magic again!
They take Kai captive to interrogate him back at the Salvatore house.  Kai says he was only pushing Bonnie’s buttons so she could finally access her magic in order to get them all out of there.
If we can trust this guy… then there’s some legitimate hope that Bonnie and Damon can get out of 1994 and back to Mystic Falls!
A big takeaway from this episode is that the gang discovers that if a compelled human crosses the town line into Mystic Falls, their compulsion is wiped… meaning Sarah, who was attacked by Elena on the side of the road, remembers everything, including what Elena is.  Matt and Jeremy return to the house to find her but she was long gone (after trashing the house for some reason).
Oh and the Fell hunter?  He meets Enzo at a diner and drugs him.  Stefan arrives with the stake gun and helps Fell out by shooting Enzo.  Fell tells Stefan to leave Enzo so he can dispose of him in his “own way”.
“Just make sure it’s painful,” says Stefan as he makes his exit.
Vampire hunters… failed compulsion… Kai’s appearance… This will certainly stir the pot for everyone next week!
