‘s Amanda Seyfried. To date, the only piece of casting Showtime has officially confirmed is Kyle MacLachlan, who will reprise his role as Agent Dale Cooper.

 co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have penned all episodes of the present-day revival — which will total more than the originally announced nine hours — with Lynch directing every installment. Filming is currently underway in Washington state.

I’m glad they are casting excellent actors and I know we need new blood in town, but hopefully the original actors will still be getting all the screen time they deserve.

Will I need to have watched the original series to follow this? I’m oddly looking forward to it and I have never even seen an episode.

I hope so. If they ignore the cliffhangers, what’s the point?

It would certainly help, although I’d be shocked if they don’t run some sort of “Previously On..” segment at the beginning of the first episode.

Showtime are re-airing the first two seasons, plus Mark Frost is releasing a novel that bridges the gaps between the original series and the revival.
