Angel cast in ‘The Bridge’ remake ‘The Tunnel’

Sky Atlantic has announced the cast for new crime drama The Tunnel.

Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones) and Clémence Poésy (Birdsong) will lead the ten-part series, based on the format of The Bridge.

Adapted sejak an Anglo-French Penulisan team led sejak Ben Richards (Spooks, Outcasts) and directed sejak Dominik Moll (The Monk), The Tunnel will begin filming this bulan and is due to air later this year.

The official synopsis reads: "When a prominent French politician is found dead on the border between the UK and France, detectives Karl Roebuck (Dillane) and Elise Wassermann (Poésy) are sent to investigate on behalf of their respective countries. However, the case takes a surreal turn when a shocking discovery is made at the crime scene, forcing the French and British police into an uneasy partnership. As the serial killer uses ever lebih elaborate and ingenious methods to highlight the moral bankruptcy of modern society, Karl and Elise are drawn deeper into his increasingly personal agenda."

Other cast members will include: Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones) as social worker, Stephen Beaumont; Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons) as journalist, Danny Hillier; Tobi Bakare (Silent Witness) as Chuks Akinade; Jeanne Balibar (All About Actresses) as charlotte Joubert; Thibault de Montalembert (Days of Glory) as the Head of the Calais police; Mathieu Carrièrre as Charlotte’s husband, Alain; and Angel Coulby (Merlin) and Jack Lowden (Mrs Biggs) as Karl’s wife and son, Laura and Adam Roebuck.

Episode 2 will see Keeley Hawes (Ashes to Ashes) sertai as Suze Harcourt, a drug-addicted care worker to Harriet, played sejak Liz Smith (The Royle Family).

Lucerne28 Good news for Angel. Hopefully it will be shown in the U.S. Any idea what role she is plaing? Is it a prominent role, one that will see her in the majority of the episode, or a bit part wherein she will be in only a handful of episodes? Thanks.

Bonne-Bell Stephen Dillane plays Stannis on Game of Thrones. Yes, he's quite a few years older than Angel. I guess they're going for the older man, young wife thing. Anyway, he's a great actor and kind of a big deal so playing alongside him will be good Angel. He can also put in a good word for her with the Game of Thrones casting directors (lol) so I'm very happy about this.

fdarcy Just checked out his bio and yes he is about 30 years older than Angel. Good news that she has a new job though and it is a drama so she will get more exposure for her talent.

HumbleQueen I too was just checking on this and he's about 24 years older. Seems the guy who's playing the son looks like he's in his twenties so I'm guessing she's a second younger wife maybe? I think m reading this right. Should be interesting seeing her interact with the "son" and I agree that playing the wife of Dillane has to be a good thing IMO. He's rather big. She won't be as big in the main plot but here's hoping there's a good side story. This is a good bunch of people for her to be in and I like the plot. It's my favorite thing, suspense. Glad she gets to do some real drama here.

Bonne-Bell Sky Atlantic is affiliated with HBO so there's a chance that they might show it on HBO in the US.

Bonne-Bell Oh, I've just read the plot for the original one "The Bridge" and if they're following it closely, then Angel's character is the second younger wife to Dillane's character. Their son is from his first marriage. And her character and the son's character are going to be crucial to the plot since the killer is going to be targetting them. Also their marriage is kind of dysfunctional so that should give more for Angel to work with. This isn't going to be a romcom, shipper feels type of series.

Bonne-Bell Lol. I know, Stacey. This is a sign. Sky Atlantic carries Game of Thrones in the UK and now she's doing a series with all these GoT casts on Sky Atlantic. It's like the stars are all aligning and the universe is about to grant us this gift. I'll die if she gets casted in GoT. Hopefully, there's tv in hell so I can still watch it after I die.

You know of course that everyone is looking at us weird but from I read his name this morning and the other actors, talk about cream of the freakin crop? Hell since DOTE it is straight A LISTERS...nobody C List here. She is finally with her own. Now...let us see where it lands...very intriguing industry do not be surprised if we get our beloved queen the most coveted role of all.

He's easily my favourite male character. Dilliane is brilliant and it's so good to see Angel getting all these roles with such great actors. After GoT, we're gonna need that biopic of Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holiday and we can take that straight to the Oscars. Lol.

sportyshuie The best about this group here is the moment we see our Angel's name being paired with someone; we shoot straight up to investigate on that pairing. LOL ... i did the same thing before reading all the comments below. Stephan Dillane is an excellent actor. I loved him in the spy game and goal! Angel will be benefiting by being paired with him because he will recognise her talent and whisper a word or two to the important people in the industry. This is an excellent year for Angel and hopefully by the end of the year, we can see her in movies and perhaps Oscars? I know my expectation is high but then ... why not?

Open Letter to the People that Run "Merlin"

To Whom it May Concern:

I have been watching “Merlin” since the beginning, and have enjoyed it immensely. It’s good entertainment, with a compelling cast of characters and it is honest fun, Fantasi escapism.

That being said, I am very disappointed in how King Arthur and Queen Guinevere’s marriage has been depicted this series.

As a bit of background, I have been happily married for fourteen years, so my komen-komen come from experience, not speculation.

Thus far we’ve seen them interact one-on-one a total of three times, and all three scenes have been very short and without much depth.
