Episode 14: Lie Hard

GG: hei Upper East Siders, If anda haven't heard, (where have anda been?) Chuck bass is back in town. Seen back at school with the other van der bass sibling, But where are B and N, We thought anda four did everything together?

(It's been 2 weeks since Chuck has returned home, He still has some bruises on his face but not as visible as they were)

Chuck and Serena are sitting in the courtyard of the school.

S: Are anda thinking about coming home?
C: (ignores the question)
S: Chuck?
C: I can do fine, On my own
S: Really? Lets refresh! Last time anda were on your own look how anda ended up
C: I know and it's not going to happen again...I'm fine sejak myself
S: Again lets journey back, I believe what happened was we had to bail anda out atau you'd be dead now
C: I would of gotten out of it
S: If anda say so...But Mom really wants anda to come home
C: Well I'm good thanks
S: Fine, Live in a hotel forever, But Mom says, door's always open
C: Well Thank Lily for me wont you
S: (grins)

(silence)

Serena receives a text message from Blair.

S: Ohh, Damn!
C: What?
S: I totally forgot, I'm meant to be seeing Dan after school
C: Ohhh and anda want to get out of it?
S: No, It's just I promiced Blair that I'd go shopping with her
C: Why does she need to go shopping?
S: Does Blair need a reason, But yes. The Fitzwilliam charity ball is the hari after tomorrow
C: (closes his eyes and growls, because he has forgotten)
S: anda haven't forgotten?
C: Well I have been preoccupid recently
S: But your still going aren't you?
C: Oh I don't know...
S: What? Chuck anda have too, bass Industries are the sponser anda have to be there
C: Can't Lily represent the company?
S: Yes, But your the CEO anda have to give the speech and do the opening
C: Ughh
S: Why don't anda wanna go?
C: I'm just not feeling like it
S: (stares at him, not convinced)
C: Okay...And I don't know what's going on with me and Blair
S: Ohhh, On atau Off
C: Exactlly, Maybe we're just better as friends
S: (slight laugh) Chuck...Blair didn't stop for months looking for you, She forgot about everything else, When anda left again it broke her, and didn't anda see the look on her face, when we got anda back, That wasn't the look of someone who just wants to be friends...
C: (surprised) Really?
S: Yes... So you'll come?
C: Sure...
S: Yay! And you're sure your not coming home?
C: I'm sure
S: Okay...

Serena stands up and waves to Chuck as she walks away.
Chuck then sees Blair in the corrner of his eye, She is standing with Penelope, Hazel, Nelly and Iz laughing and smiling.
Chuck gives a slight smile, Blair sees him and gives a small wave, He waves back.
Blair and the rest of the girls then walk off.

(Later on at the Waldorf Apartment)

Blair is just about to leave, When Nate enters from the elevator.

N: Hello?
B: Nate?
N: Ahh you're in
B: I'm on my way out
N: Oh right then...
B: (hmphs) What are anda doing here Nate?
N: It's about this charity ball on thursday
B: Yes, I'm just going shopping for a dress
N: Ohhh, anda might want to put that on hold
B: (not pleased) Why?
N: Because I have to take you
B: (surprised) What?
N: Yes, Appartently my Mom and your Mom thought since Vanessa is out of town, and we're both alone I take you, just as friends
B: Ughh. Why would my Mom do this?!
N: Because she's trying to cheer anda up
B: In that case why did she send you?
N: Look I'm not happy about this either, Especially after...
B: I thought we agreed not to mention that...encounter ever again
N: Agreed...So why should this be weid...We're just Friends helping eachother out
B: Fine, We'll go as friends
N: Great
B: Is that all?
N: Yeah
B: Then I'll say goodbye, I have a dress to go buy

Blair gives Nate a sarcastic wave and smile.
Nate exits as Serena arrives.

S: hei Nate
N: Hey
S: What are anda doing here?
N: Blair will explain...

Nate exits. Blair rolls her eyes. Serena looks confused.

S: Wha...?
B: Don't ask!

GG: The Charity ball is getting closer, Upper East Siders, Got your designer dresses and your one of a kind heels yet? Blair Waldorf sure...hasn't! Leaving it last minit B? Are anda not looking foward to the event of the year?


(At a boutique in Manhattan)

Blair and Serena are trying on dresses. Blair is looking at herself in the mirror, She sees all the imperfections and not her perfections.

B: Ughh. This is all wrong. I can't wear this
S: (from the dressing room) What?
B: I said, I can't wear this dress

(Serena comes out of the dressing room)

S: What's wrong with that dress? It's gorgeous
B: Ughh, It's just wrong. It the wrong colour, wrong length, Wrong...
S: Well pick another one then
B: Ohh, I'm really not in the mood for this. I'll just get Eleanor to pick me another one
S: What's up with you?
B: Huh...
S: You've been Berlakon odd ever since we left the apartment
B: Ohh, Ignore me, I'm just having an off day
S: Has this got something to with Nate?
B: What? Why do anda say that?
S: Just anda two have been Berlakon odd the last few weeks,
B: What? No. No we haven't.
S: What's going on B?
B: Nothing

(Serena looks suspisious)

Assistant enters.

A: Would anda like me to put that dress on hold for anda Miss van der Woodsen?
S: Yes, Thank you. For Thursday morning, There will be someone to collect it
A: Very well and for anda Miss Waldorf?
B: (looks at herself in the mirror again) Actually I will get this. Put it on hold for me too.
A: Very well

(Assistant leaves)

S: Why did anda change your mind? I thought it was all wrong
B: I changed my mind (smiles)

(Later at the Palace bar)

Serena and Blair are having a drink.

S: So are anda going to tell me about Nate?
B: What?
S: I can tell when your lying B, That's what a BFF is for
B: Well anda must be having a bad day, I'm not lying
S: B, Come on...Is this about Chuck?
B: No.
S: Blair?
B: Fine! Nate and I kissed
S: (coughs on her drink) WHAT?
B: There's the reaction I was dreading
S: Why? When?
B: When, Chuck had gone to fight off Travis for me, and anda were with your Mom
S: When Chuck was missing?
B: Don't make it sound worse that it is
S: But B...Nate, again?
B: It just a kiss, and it was a mistake...He has a girlfriend, Even if it is Vanessa, and I have...
S: Who do anda have B?
B: (takes a sip from her drink)
S: Are anda going to tell Chuck?
B: Are anda kidding?
S: No
B: If I tell Chuck, That's it.

(Serena gets a text on her phone, opens it and reads)

S: Ohhh No!
B: What?
S: We have that dance rehersal for thursday
B: (realising) Ughh, I compleatly forgot, How late are we?
S: An hour

(Serena and Blair grab their coats and exit)

(At Constance, In the main Hall)

Many other students are there already dancing.
Chuck and Nate are there.
Serena and Blair enter.
Headmistress Queller marches over to them.

HQ: Miss Waldorf, Miss van der Woodsen, So glad to decided to grace us with your presence.
S: We're sorry Headmistress, We were held up
HQ: (smells the alcohol) Yes I'm sure anda were, Well just sertai the other students will you

Chuck walks over to Serena.

C: Where the hell have anda been?
S: We were shopping
C: The only reason I'm here is because anda presuaded me too
S: Why aren't anda having fun?
C: (laughs under his breath)
S: I'm taking that as a no
HQ: (shouts) Okay, Now into couples.

All go into couples except Nate and Blair.

HQ: Oh come on Nathaniel, Blair...

Nate and Blair dance, They don't say anything to eachother.

N: How was your day?
B: Fine... (mumbles) I told Serena
N: anda what?
B: I had too, She's my best friend
N: Ohh, If we're telling best friends, maybe I should tell Chuck
B: Why would you, Lets face it, That would do lebih harm to anda than me, I don't have a boyfriend...
HQ: (shouts) and change...

All the student swap partners.

HQ: Change...

They change again.

HQ: Change...

They change again, Blair turns around and her partner is Chuck.
Blair smiles, Chuck grins back.
As they menyeberang, cross their hands across the others, They both tighten their palms, and both hold eachother close as they dance across the room.

HQ: Change...

Blair and Chuck don't let go of eachother's hands, but they eventually do and Blair end up back with dancing with Nate, But she is still smiling over at Chuck.

GG: The look of love, It's a look that needs no words, No explenation. And that's what we saw today, The look that past between two of our Upper East Siders...Are they going to get together at the dance, atau will someone else stand in their way?
