In my sebelumnya Blue's Clues article, I mentioned how Steven Burns's Steve passed the hosting torch down to Donovan Patton's Joe in 2002. This helped ensure that the Blue's Clues series would continue even after Steve was no longer a part of the show. Steve served as the host of the first four seasons and the original movie. His time as host started in 1996 and ended in 2002. Joe served as the host of the fifth and sixth seasons. His time as host started in 2002 and ended in 2006. Joe also appeared in Blue's Room. That series began in 2004 and ended in 2007.

For the 25th anniversary of Blue Clues, Steven Burns made a video for the fans. In the video, he talked about what he had been up to since he left the series.
