It's not something I've really thought about. I'm not much of a shipper, I enjoy the relationships, but as long as they're well written and the feelings seem real I'm usually ok with it even when it's not the pairing I prefer. Like I prefer Spuffy but if Buffy ended up with Angel as long as it was well done I'd be cool. I'd even be ok with a whole new guy being the one she ended up with if he was a good character (though it doesn't really matter as I don't read the comics, so will never know if settles down with anyone). My lack of shipperiness (Shipitude?) means I haven't actually put much thought into how I'd want the Buffy/Vamp relationships to work long term. I was wondering what other Buffy fans favour.

I thought of going with them turning human, because them dating her when she's all wrinkly and they still look 20-something doesn't really work for me. On the other hand them turning human would take away some of their awesome and also part of what makes them a good match for her, they share the strength and link to darkness with her that human men can't. As morbid as it sounds, the main way I see it working is her dying young enough that the age thing doesn't become an issue. I didn't really like the idea of her becoming a vampire, and don't know if Angel or Spike (especially Angel) would be willing to turn her, but if she got a soul and just spent eternity as Buffy the vampire vampire slayer I guess I'd be able to get on board with that one.

When I found out about Jack's wife (Torchwood), and his relationship with his daughter, I thought it was sad but sweet at the same time.

But then I remembered the Mayor, and how his wife cursed him for his youth as she grew older. So it could be a deal-breaker.

But I don't really ship Buffy with anyone. I don't think she's found anyone that is A) good enough for her and B) can provide a healthy relationship for her. Like Riley could provide a healthy relationship, and I actually kind of ship Briley, but people think he wasn't good enough for her. Conversely, Angel and Spike were considered good enough for her, but couldn't give her a normal, healthy relationship.

I am SO glad the Buffy and Xander rumor was a red herring. Though I don't know if it's any better that it's Dawn he's with and not Buffy. Xander was good with Willow, Cordelia and Anya, but Buffy and Dawn? Ew.

Or the aging normally with the relationship lasting her lifetime version. It depends on how tragic I want the romance to be.
