The 2005 version kicks 71's ass. Johnny Depp all the way!

71's movie compare to the 2005 one sucks like shit! I luv this one becus Johnny is so naughty! Sexy! LUV HIM!!!!!!!!!!!

There are certain things I like about both of them. I like the 71's Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder!) and Charlie Bucket more, but I like the 2005's factory, kids and songs more. I didn't think that Johnny Depp fit the role for Willy Wonka.

I love the TB version! Mainly because, according to the directors and people, it's more like the book for these reasons:
a.) In the '71 version, Willy Wonka is a fatherly figure for Charlie, since they cut out Charlie's father, but Willy Wonka is probably the least likely person to be fatherly.
b.) There's a combination of light and dark. I believe once you step into the factory, coming out you see the world in a whole new way.
c.) The '05 movie had an added sarcasm in it.

I also like TB's version because the actors are great, the dismality (my own word) of the outside world makes the factory spectacular and the Oompa Loompa songs are more modern are my taste.
FAST FACT: Roald Dahl HATED the '71 version since it wasn't like the book.
