Continuation of my Series 2 review in Part One.

The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
Also another highly favoured of mine, this story never stops being enjoyable to watch. The first part begins with The Doctor and Rose becoming trapped orbiting impossibly around a Black Hole, and that's not the only impossible thing that occurs. The Beast, heavily hinted to be Satan, begun leaking through into the characters' and the audiences' fear during the tension-building first episode, and Gabriel Woolf voiced The Beast effortlessly. There was a great claustrophic atmosphere generated in the episode, and the concern we feel towards the characters is heightened. That whole "Don't turn around" was utterly spine-tingling and so was that dramatic music.
Ranking: 9.5/10
The saat part topped up the action as Rose and the crew ran through the base's tunnels, and The Doctor and Ida became trapped on Krop Tor with no option but to explore the pit. It was some great edge-of-the-seat material, which also really challenged our beliefs, leaving us wondering how far the episode would go to push the Doctor's scientific principles. The episode ended on a positive euphoric note, but it keeps my thoughts reeling for some while after.
9.5/10

Cinta and Monsters
I get rather protective over 'Love and Monsters', seeing as though most of the fan-base belittle it sejak poking fun and making it out to be the worst episode in Doctor Who history. I disagree, as I find it to be a light-hearted bit of quirky fun which does have darker themes if anda look into it. It was interesting to have a Doctor and companion-lite episode, and I'm glad we did, because I adore the character of Elton, and his favourite song 'Mr Blue Sky' has become a favourite of mine also. I do agree that the episode takes a lot of time to get going and it spends too much time following Elton's life, but Victor Kennedy and the Abzorbaloff aren't actually that bad. In additon, who doesn't Cinta that quote sejak Elton at the end: "The world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker, and so much madder.... And so much better!"
Ranking: 7/10

Fear Her
Also another heavily-slated episode, I go against all the hate on this occasion too. I can't deny that I've always had a soft spot for 'Fear Her'. Rose was fantastic in this episode, as she has to save the world on her own, and she succeeds, proving her worth as an individual. The summery olympic feel brings happiness to my eyes everytime I watch it, and I just find it very enjoyable overall. The living drawings concept was very well done and rather interesting, and even though it does boast some childish themes, it makes me remember my viewings of Doctor Who as a child, which is a nice bit of nostalgia.
Ranking: 10/10

Army of Ghosts/Doomsday
"This is the story of how I died." We start the episode knowing of Rose's upcoming 'death', which in a way, diminishes somewhat from the actual plot of the story, as I find myself constantly worrying about Rose and not caring for anything else in the episode. Thinking about the plot though, the first episode develops it nicely, revealing the ghosts as Cybermen quite early on and creating curiousity over what could be inside the Void ship. Torchwood is shown fully in the flesh for the first time after being referred to often during the series; something that will become a big part of the Doctor Who franchise in good time. Jackie was telah diberi some well-deserved screentime, and her banter with the Doctor brought some light-hearted humour. And at the climax of the first part, the Daleks were revealed to be the hidden enemy, in a predictable, yet epic, turn of events.
Ranking: 8.5/10
The saat part is very dark in tone, hence the title, and that's not just due to Rose's departure. The Daleks and Cybermen declare war on each other and the Earth, which, through the Doctor's fearful eyes, we feel a sense of dread towards the episode's course. I find it hard to see the episode in an all-round enjoyable sense, as the forshadowing is quite heavy, but it still did have some interesting elements to it. Mickey and the Preachers return in style with their world-jumping devices, and Pete and Jackie take part in an emotional reunion. As millions of Daleks spread over Earth, The Doctor comes up with a clever plan involving the 'void stuff', but it comes at an unthinkable price. Rose's decision to stay with the Doctor and leave her mother forever was heart-wrenching, but what comes seterusnya is simply traumatising. The scene in which Rose falls helplessly into the void and the Doctor shouts her name is what brings the tears to my eyes, and even when she is saved sejak her dad, the scene is still heart-breaking. The Doctor and Rose's goodbye scene on the pantai marks the devestating end of an era (if anda Cinta Rose, that is), and their final exchange of words doesn't allow anda to karang your dry eyes either.
Ranking: 8/10

The Runaway Bride
Rose has gone, and all of a sudden, Donna, an out-spoken woman who thinks she's been kidnapped, joins the Doctor. Initially it is quite difficult to adjust to the loud-mouthed bride-to-be, but she does offer most of the episode's comedic moments, notably the 'Pockets!' remark. The Doctor's sorrow for the loss of Rose is evident, but he still manages to be his adventurous self, as he and Donna sertai forces to defeat the Racnoss, who employed Lance, Donna's fiance, to dose Donna with lethal Huon particles. This was a shocking turn of events, and it gave us chance to see a vulnerable side to Donna. And if it wasn't for Donna, The Doctor wouldn't have stopped his flooding of the Racnoss, and we all know what would have happened then. The last scene between The Doctor and Donna, with Donna telling the Doctor that she thinks he needs someone to stop him, was expertly written, and adds a bit of the christmassy theme to the story, which is often forgotten about when it comes to Russell's Krismas specials.
Ranking: 9.5/10

keseluruhan Series Ranking: 9
So, overall, the series has had a run of excellent episodes, with a few mediocre ones in there, but nothing absolutely atrocious. It is a lovely series to watch, ranging from the scary and the tragic to the fun and the quirky.
I hope anda have enjoyed Membaca the two parts of my review, and I look ke hadapan to hearing your comments.
Thanks, DW_girl.
