Same. My 2nd grade teacher read the first one aloud to us when they first came out in '98 (i was 7). Then I started reading them on my own. HP is like my childhood :')

I read the first book when I was 10 and the last one when I was 17 (I'm 21 now, so yeah)... I literally got the books the DAY they came out and usually read them in no more than one or two days. No one was allowed to talk to me while I was reading the books LOL.
The movies are fun I guess but they just don't measure up to the books. I'm not dissing the movies, I like them, I even own them, but the ACTUAL, COMPLETE story you can get ONLY from reading the books. I mean you can only get to know Harry's journey and character and everything by reading the books. I love these books because well, I did grow up with them...

Yep. First one came out when I was in 4th grade, I think? And the last one came out the summer after my senior year.

It's awesome that I love HP as much (maybe even more, actually) now as I did back then.

They came out when I was like 4 years old, yeah I was a baby but then I watched the first movie in 2001 and I was 6 years old, since them I have loved harry potter, then I started to read the books and I became addicted to it :D

I only recently (as in three weeks ago) got into HP. I think all the hype turned me off as a kid so I just never tried reading them. I'm actually glad, though, because once I started reading them I got so addicted there's no way I would have been able to wait for each book to be released. God knows I'm having a hard enough time waiting six weeks for the final movie!

I heard of Harry Potter throughout my life (and watched parts of the movies), but I didn't think I'd get into it. It was earlier this year when I started reading the books- and became obsessed.

Yes, so much so, that I can't even remember when I was first introduced to it, it was just always...there. My earliest memory of it however, was me about 3-5 getting scared when watching Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, because it was the forest scene, and Voldemort was there, and me ans my brother his behind the settee. I don't know if that was the first time I watched it though.
