Perhaps the most touching love-story I've heard for ages! Snape was just ... so brave and loyal to Lily - even when she had been dead for over 15 years.

This and also he's a very complex, deeply human character. Human in a sense he's flawed, with his own contradictions and has to do with them.

The most interesting character in the whole series in my humble opinion.
