That same afternoon, Wilson didn’t bother to bury himself on self-destruction. He had set his mind to alih on and accept what House might have decided on what to do with their screwed up friendship. He’s not doing it because he doesn’t care on what his friend felt but he’s doing this to re-direct himself and try to be normal as what had been used to. He had Lost Cuddy’s trust the other hari and now, his only relationship that is existing is obviously at stake, well, at least that’s what he thinks it is.
Instead of heading home, he drove out to work, put on his lab kot and alih like nothing’s bothering inside. He called out one patient, to be an Angel this time to tell him that he isn’t dying, that cancer’s not in the picture and that he has a longer timeline than what they first thought. He tapped the man’s shoulder and faked a smile as they stood seterusnya to each other on his office doorway before they parted ways, but just when he’s about to come in his office again, Cuddy went out from the elevator with Rachel at her arms. Wilson’s jaw dropped to see her coming in.
Cuddy: Hey…
Wilson: <shocked and somehow looking nervous> Hi…
Cuddy: Can we come in?
Wilson: Sure…
They did, with Cuddy leading the way in and Wilson closing the door behind him. She took the sofa, kerusi panjang as he stood there before her.
Cuddy: I see anda just had a patient…
Wilson: Yah… Just declared his tumor’s benign and there’s nothing to worry about…
Cuddy: I could tell from his smile…
He sighed and ran some fingers on his temple.
Wilson: Times like these I wish I am the one who have cancer…
Cuddy: Oh don’t be like that… If this has something to do with what we had ---
Wilson: No, it… it isn’t that…
Cuddy: Then alih on… I told anda it was nothing. Let’s be like what we used to be…
Wilson: <sighed> I could work that out but I don’t think I could work things out with House…
She glanced up to him with her grey eyes filled with sudden shock of fear.
Cuddy: Oh my god, anda told him?!
He met her gaze but this time, he’s lebih confuse than afraid.
Wilson: <stammered> What do anda mean? --- He didn’t tell anda that --- oh… my… god…
Cuddy: What?
Wilson: What the hell are anda doing here in New Jersey?!
Cuddy: Because I work here and I… live here…
Wilson: God! You’re not supposed to be here!
Cuddy: What are anda talking about? --- I won’t stay long, I just came in to file a leave of absence…
Wilson: Great but why don’t anda leave early than what have anda planned? House has just been release from Mayfield and now, Pitt’s driving him to Michigan to meet up with anda and you’re here?
Cuddy: <snatched her phone from the bag> I’ll go call Rick for them to turn around…
Wilson: Are anda kidding me? They must have been past halfway now and turning back isn’t an option. Now go and get a plane ticket that would take anda ---
Cuddy: Flights fully booked…
Wilson: I’ll make some calls…
Cuddy nodded as Wilson began calling some airlines he has special privilege with.

Pitt has left House two hours after they reached Cuddy’s family utama in Michigan. The place had gone silent after the car engine faded away to the north. House was alone in the middle of that summer afternoon as he swayed himself with the hayun, swing sofa, kerusi panjang at the porch. A neighbor happened to passed sejak and thought he was a burglar so the man walked to him.
Man: Get out! Get out atau I’ll call the cops!
House landed on his feet.
House: No, no, no, I’m… A visitor of Dr. Cuddy… Thought I could just kerusi, tempat duduk here and wait for her… but…
He started to walk to leave the porch as the man looked at him. He was wearing a pale brown jaket with almost six pockets all over it (opened), a semi-loose fit baju that shows his chest and abs very well, pants to match it with and his kegemaran Nike running shoes. The neighbor was convinced that he is nothing but a good fellow and it would be cruel to just shoo him away like that.
Man: Hmm, excuse me sir…
He turned.
Man: I think I have mistaken your identity… My apologizes to you…
He smiled and started to walk back and stayed in front of the man.
House: No problem…
Man: anda could stay here atau if anda wanted, care for a cup of teh atau something?
House: No thank you, I’m full… Do anda know when will Dr. Cuddy be back? atau will she be back?
Man: I’m afraid I can’t tell but she’s been alone since her parents left for the coast. Maybe she went after them, I don’t know… I’ve been seeing her carrying a little girl around these days. Maybe she’s hiding the baby from… from you, anda know. Married life is really tough, I get it but anda guys should work it out, too bad for the little girl, wouldn’t it? So, are anda after your daughter’s custody atau for both of them?
House scoffed with a smile.
Man: I mean, is the baby your daughter? – Guess I jumped too ---
House: Yes… she WILL BE my daughter…
Man: Oh… --- Man, anda are so lucky to have them both…
House: I know… <smiled>
A call from the house seterusnya to Cuddy’s came out and the man’s attention was caught.
Man: Yah, I’ll be right there! <Turned to face House> Ha, married life, well, uh, nice meeting you…
House: Greg…
Man: Nice meeting you, Greg. I’m James sejak the way.
House smiled and shook James’s hand.
House: Nice meeting anda James…
James: Count me in… Well, I’ll better get going, don’t want my wife throwing my clothes out. Take care of Lisa, she’s nice, very nice with a sexy ass. Okay, don’t punch me.
House smiled and James began to walk away from him. He walked back to the sofa, kerusi panjang hayun, swing again and sat down to wait for Cuddy to come home.

The sky turned lovely orange after five hours that same day. House had slept twice already but Cuddy wasn’t coming in yet. He feared, she has stayed in Jersey already and he even thought of flying himself back to Plainsboro that night. He glanced at his watch and decided to wait for another hour, this is a now atau never moment for him, although he doubt himself if he could do the “never” part. He smiled with that thought. He was about to close his eyes for another sleep, when a taxi pulled in front of the lawn. He sat up and watched who this might be. He landed on his feet the moment Cuddy went out from the cab with Rachel in a standing position on her chest and head on her shoulder. House, although he practiced what he wanted to say for almost hours now, had just stood there and it seemed to him that it was his own feet that brought him in front of Cuddy in mid-lawn.
House: Hey…
Cuddy returned a smile.
Cuddy: Hey… Wilson berkata you’ve been released…
House: <stammered> Yes… I am, just this morning…
Cuddy: It’s good to see anda again, House…
House: Want to know what about in my part?
Cuddy scoffed and swayed Rachel who started to sound a little cry as House eyed both of them.
House: She’s grown a little…
Cuddy: Yah, but she’s ---
House extended his arms to her.
House: Mind if I…
Cuddy nodded and positioned Rachel for him to receive her but to their surprise, no effort was needed, Rachel was the one who extended her arms herself for her to be carried sejak House.
House: Good girl… Now come to daddy…
He gave the girl a little peck on the side of her forehead as he carry her in his arms as Cuddy held a confused look in her eyes.
Cuddy: Daddy?
House: <to Rachel> God, I miss you… --- Let’s ignore you’re mom, pretend I didn’t say anything pretty obvious on what I wanted, right?
Rachel made a little laugh and Cuddy and House smiled as she placed her palms on both of his shoulder.
Cuddy: I have missed you…
House turned his head to meet her looks. Their faces are inches apart, their nose almost touching the other.
House: I know anda do… I have missed anda too…
He leaned and kissed her with a quick Ciuman on the lips.
James: anda go, rodeo!
James cried out as he waved his arms in the air while he was at the saat floor of their house. House and Cuddy looked at him.
Cuddy: What? How come…?
House: <turned to look at Cuddy> Shh, men talk…
Cuddy smiled and gave him another quick kiss.
Cuddy: Let’s go in, it’s getting old…
House: Thought you’re going to say it’s getting hot, I would have like that…
Cuddy chuckled and the three of them, with Rachel still at House’s arm, walked to the house.
