Why was Roger the only wearing a green uniform?

I know the soalan sounds a little weird but I always wondered why Roger wore a different color uniform than everyone else on the base. I grew up watching reruns of the tunjuk and it recently started to air again and I still don't know why.


I hope someone is able to answer this question.

Roger wears green because he is in the US Army Corps of Engineers, on detached service to NASA. Everyone else is Air Force (mostly).
