The money raised sejak the auction is to be used to fix up the skateboard park in Stratford, Ontario, Bieber’s hometown.
Bidding for the car had stalled earlier at just over $30,000 which was less than the reserve amount — the minimum the seller would accept. But the winning bid came through in the final minit of the auction; $40,000.
The identity of the winning bidder was not immediately known.
