Katy Perry posed with a mini-me of herself (pictured below) at the Svedka-sponsored People party at Mr. West nightclub on Wednesday (May 6). Before Rihanna showed up to support her Katy, here’s what the 24-year-old “I Kissed A Girl” singer opened up to JustJared.com about:
KP: Hi! I Cinta your site so much! You’re the man because anda tunjuk good pictures and you’re not trashing people’s lives and making people cry! You’re a nice guy, I like that. You’re trying to change the idea of media. It’s cool.
JJ: We sort of have similar religious backgrounds. Maybe we relate on that level?
KP: Maybe that’s why anda still have integrity?
JJ: (laughs) Do anda call yourself a sellout then?
KP: Oh yeah, I sold out my whole tour! I’m a sellout in the most positive way! (laughs) But no, I don’t think I’m a sellout at all. I like to go big! I Cinta pop music, I’m not ashamed, anda know? A lot of people are like “Ugh, pop music.” atau major record labels think it’s cool to be indie but my dream as a little girl was to be on the Grammys and to have my record be available to everyone in the whole world. That’s why I need that big record label.

JJ: Go big atau go home, right?
KP: Oh, always! anda can see that in my outfits. anda can see that in my conversations and interviews, I don’t know. That’s how I’ve always been.
JJ: What’s your kegemaran thing to do when you’re visiting New York? (JJ Note: Katy lives in L.A.)
KP: I Cinta NY so much! I would alih to NY if my life wasn’t already so intense. The thing about NY is that anda have no excuses to take the elevator down from your apartment and meet your Friends at the bar downstairs. New York is just such a cultural shmorgishboard. It’s very artistic and inspiring. It always has such a constant energy about it every hour! I Cinta that it has all different kinds of people! anda could sit on a bench, watch people, and be so inspired sejak it. So much character! The shopping here is unbelievable. After touring a lot of different places, and being all around the world…New York City and Tokyo are the jem shopping spots. Nothing else compares.
JJ: Where is the one place anda must go shopping?
KP: There are a couple places, I go to the Lower East Side because I like lebih of the little boutiquey stuff. I Cinta this one kedai called Mandate Of Heaven. She is my favorite, she does rompers and jumpers. I just bought this merah jambu jumper. It has a portrait of a kitten on it and it’s really short so it shows off my butt a little. But it’s very innocent, very Lolita. So if anda come to NYC anda have to check out Mandate Of Heaven!
JJ: Are anda performing in NY any time soon?
KP: I am! I was just here for three sold-out shows at the Irving Plaza, and I’ll be back July 28th at the Gramercy.
JJ: What’s the most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?
KP: Well, anda know, when you’re a teenager anda feel invincible. Maybe, in retrospect, the most dangerous thing I’ve ever done was driving for the first time on the 405 in 5 lanes of traffic, at night. First time, in my first car, a black Jetta.
JJ: Any insider info anda can give us about your new Muzik video, “Waking Up In Vegas”?
KP: Yes! If anda look at the opening scene, which is kind of the way we ended as well, anda will see a little old lady to the left with like an oxygen tank on. If anda are on the outskirts of Vegas, it can get really depressing. You’ll see old people with their gambling carts and you’ll be like “Ew, anda need the Lord!” (laughs) That little old lady is my 88-year-old grandma! She lives in Las Vegas and she was dying to be in the video.
JJ: And your BFF Markus is in this video?
KP: Yes! Markus Molinari, my best friend. anda can catch him for a perpecahan, berpecah saat at the bahagian, atas of the drag Queen opening at the table. Markus is also coming with me to Vienna while I’m hosting Life Ball.
