I really thought that after Liv and Grammy Whatsherface came to an understanding about Ellie in the mid-season finale, the show would begin to course-correct and get back to law, order, and remembering that there are other members of the SVU squad. The mid-season finale had Rollins & Carisi bonding, lots of Barba, and the most interesting case in a long time. Then the last 30 seconds happened.

Look, I love Liv. But I have never watched this show specifically for Liv. I was happy for her when she decided to keep Noah. But ever since that happened, it's been, as someone called it on Twitter, The Olivia Benson Drama Hour. The case of the week takes a backseat to whatever custody drama the writers can force in, and the other SVU detectives feel like minor characters. It's to the point where I get excited when any of them have a line. (Fin's WVa "allergy" takes the one-liner cake in the MSF.)

I really, really hope that SVU decides to give the constant Noah drama a damn break after getting the little creature back this time. It's a police procedural, not a family drama. It's gettin' old.

Ok, rant over, carry on.

I stopped watching SVU a couple years ago because it was rapidly becoming less "SVU" and more "Benson and some other cops". If I wanted to watch a family drama show, I'd watch one. I watched SUV because I wanted to watch a cop show.
