A rather stupid mistake I made. I was nowhere near ready.

I'm straight. End of story. God, it must really suck to be forced out. That happened to my friend. She came out when she didn't want to because some kids in her school were asses about it, and then a huge thing errupted. Sucked for her completely.

With me, it totally slipped out. Now I just wish I could take it all back.

I planned it with all my friends but it happened by accident with my dad. It was actually kind of funny. He was doing the laundry and I accidentally left a bi pin on my t-shirt that my friend had given me. He was like, "Is there anything you want to tell me?" and my face turned bright red and I was just like, "I think the pin just told you everything you need to know."

I came out to my friends and family quite naturally actually, they just guessed, really. It was harder at work though, being in the occupation I am I wan't sure how they'd take it so I kinda chose my moment. They're all great about it, though.

I'm only out to a select group of people. Namely, good friends and fanpop. I don't know why I haven't told my family, as I know they wouldn't care... I just haven't.

I'm mostly out, not completely. Everyone who I need to know about it knows about it. Those who don't will find out eventually. I'm proud of how I came out. I told my friends at my school picnic and they were great about it, I never expected otherwise. They joked with me, but it was all fun. It helped to laugh and joke. That's how I knew it really was okay.

I'm in the same situation as Cinders. when I came out with my friends I was very nervous but while I was telling them I couldn't stop laughing. pretty stupid no? I love my friends they are very understanding ^-^

Question: Does "out" only apply to LGBT? I always thought it just meant open and comfortable about your sexuality. Have I thought wrong?

I think my friends (close ones) should know but I'm not ready for my family to know yet and I'm probably gonna screw it up when I tell them.

I don't know what I'd say. I'm too confused at the moment, I thought I was bi but I may be a lesbian but I'm sure time will tell. Well, I hope time will tell.

There's no point coming out yet, I'm too confused. When everything's in the right place and figured out, then I'll come out.

My 'comming out' was so natural it didn't take planning at all.

At one point another girl from our group of friends and I liked each other and everyone just saw it and knew. We talked about it but it wasn't really nescessary to say all that much. There was no real planning but it was definitely the right moment.

I've known that I was bisexual pretty much all my life, or well, my life around the time you start to get crushes and stuff.
I have an old diary, and when I was nine, ten years old I already wrote in there that I liked girls as well.

Of course people I meet don't know about it right away, but I'm really open about it, so it's not as if I'm really coming out to them, sitting them down and telling them about it, when a cute girl walks by I say: 'hey that girl is cute', and when past crushes come up I always talk about the girls I've crushed on as well as the boys.
Idk, I don't really have a coming out experience, I guess, people always just know after a while.

I planned to do it, but It come out faster than me. Haha. But, to be honest, people who don't notice that were like blind, because I've always showed I have no problems, I can kiss a guy, I could fall in love, nobody know what future has planned for us. Let it be. All my life I've been sating that we all are bisexual, but in different ways and "levels" BUT can you keep on believing that a person who says that is straight? DUH! HELLO! Well, that's not entirely true. I came out to one of my best friends today. And I am over the moon :)

I want come out but its hard because my girlfriend family, they are very homophobic... Just some of my friends know that...

I don´t know how to tell my folks... My friends know, they keep mentioning, but it´s more of a joke. My one friend got really "mad" at me for not being in lesbianlove with her tho :D I have awesome friends

I came out to a small group of my friends (and some people who weren't really friends) during a game of Truth or Dare on Halloween. I was going to tell them eventually, so I figured it was as good a time as any. I wish I hadn't, though, because the news spread without my knowledge of it until one day, some guy in my class came up to me and said, "I know a secret about you. I know you're bi." The fact that he knew didn't bother me, but the fact that someone was telling others behind my back kind of hurt.
(Of course, most people were speculating about me behind my back anyway.)

I came out after that my girlfriend left me, I told it to my parents, a lot of friends, but my grandma dont know it but everything is cool...

I plan to participate in the day of Silence next year and that should say everything.

Well, the Day of Silence isn't only for the LGBT community to participate in.

i had an argument and just shouted '' yeah well b***h im gay '' at my mom.

I don't know how to do it... My parent are in their 50s and probably wouldnt accept it and i go to a catholic school and i know they would accept it and i always hear girls being like "i think she's a lesbian" about other people and all around gossiping about the topic. do you have any idea what i should do??

I find it odd that most people on this group are straight? Im not being rude or anything but i thought that straight people would at least be in the minority and not in the majority :S

Made a comment to a friend I grew up with. Met a girl, had an instant connection & when my friend asked who she was I swooningly said "I'm going to marry that girl someday"... not even thinking she didn't know yet. lol.

I nervously changed my myspace orientation so my mom would see it. It was the right time for me in that case... so I guess it would be a mix of accidentally & when it was the right time for me.

I was 15 and decided to stop living a lie and start living my life.

Honestly, I really don't see the point in "coming out" to anyone except a partner. Straight people don't have to come out, because it's just assumed that everyone is straight unless they say otherwise. That means gays, lesbians, bisexuals, asexuals, etc. should have to come out so that they aren't grouped with the rest of society. That's wrong! It just teaches people to treat non-heterosexuals differently. But if you want to come out, that's your choice.

I have a feeling that my parents have known that I was gay all my life (although I'm actually bi). I'm sure they wouldn't care. But I don't think I should tell them because who I'm sexually attracted to doesn't affect my family.

A few good friends know it! And Im happy about it :) And Im not ready telling to my family.. So it's scary kinda... I will wait for the perfect moment.. When Im famous!! LoL

I planned coming out to my friends but was kinda forced to coming out to my family. It was actually pretty funny and supper awkward. I was out to my closest friends and was actually going out with my best friend for a few months. Well one day we were hanging out after school I was waiting for my brother who was in football practice and she was waiting for he sister who was in detention. Any who a few days latter my brother is driving us to school and he stops in the middle of the parking lot and blurts out "ARE YOU GAY??" He actually kinda screamed it at me freaked out. I was just really caught of guard so my automatic answer was "No of coarse no". He got supper fidgety and awkward and he was "like its OK if you are I'll except you" I was dumbstruck so asked him why he asked. It turned out he walked in on me and my girlfriend making out really hardcore and apparently we were so into it we didn't even notice him. It was so awkward. Needless to say i kinda had to tell my family. It was awkward and pretty hard but my brother did stand by me the whole time.

all i have to do is tell my mom, which i think she knows already deep down,, then shell spead it around the family. i am planning to tell her in a month or two. i know the exact day.

well tecknickly i was keeping it a secret for a littlewhile but im 13 i turned 13 in may and basicly said "screw it". my mom dont care she has the "long as ur happy" theory. and my friends couldnt care less (well all but one. needless to say she dont like talking to me). only one who dont know is my dad but that just cause "rocky" dont cover how we get along, we dont - i hate him and viceversa.

When I thought i was bi I was just like 'I'm bi' same when I thought I was a lesbian.

They fear abandonment, etc.

I say, this is a great way for you to see who really cares for you no matter what.
Come out. Be you. And tell those who don't like it to kiss your juicy ass.

As most people know, I have absolutely no confidence issues. This was completely a non issue for me.

I just came out last month. July 3oth. I do wish I came out sooner. O_well.

And it was only to my closest friends at first.

i came out to my mom, she had a shiitefit!!!!! Thank the Goddess she never tpld my dad.

I probably should have told people earlier, really, but I didn't want to have to put up with the whole "you just haven't met the right person" thing.
