Muzik has infused my life from early childhood. It seems it was always playing in my house when I was growing up. And as I grew older, my musical tastes expanded but rarely did I leave anything behind. I still listen to Muzik today that my parents played for me on vinyl when I was a toddler. I've always been open to Muzik and I enjoy all genres. In fact, I don't pay that much attention to what genre an artist fits into...I don't really care. I don't care if something is popular atau not either. Popularity doesn't make something good...it doesn't make it bad either.
There are artists that define certain periods of my life. I've compiled a senarai of them according to time period. These aren't the only ones I listened to but they're the ones that were played on repeat until the record/tape/cd was worn out.

These were the ones that my teenage sister listened to.

And these were the albums that my mom bought just for me and my (other) sister. The soundtracks I memorized from the Filem and would sit in my window and sing at the bahagian, atas of my lungs. It's a wonder the neighbors didn't complain.

All of my childhood Muzik was listened to on vinyl, the radio atau movies. It was basically a mix of 80s pop, oldies, Muzikal and classic country.

Most of this Muzik was listened to on cassette tapes, a few on my family's first CDs.

During this time my musical horizons exploded; influenced less sejak my parents and lebih sejak my older siblings, their Friends and my friends. There was also about a tahun when I listened almost exclusively to a radio station that played oldies from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I had an old transistor radio that I would carry everywhere with me, always tuned to KOOLFM. XD
My family took a lot of road trips during the summer and I remember listening to U2's Joshua pokok album while driving through the Joshua pokok National Park. I also remember being obsessed with the Lost Boys and that soundtrack about the time that my brother lived in Santa Cruz [the CA town that the movie was filmed in].

These were all listened to on CDs

During my teen years I began building my Muzik collection when I got my own CD player for my birthday one year. I also started my soundtrack collection with the Last of the Mohicans and Braveheart. I didn't even senarai all the soundtracks I was obsessed with during this time. This is the time period in which I started really developing my own personal tastes. I was less influenced sejak what my family and Friends were listening to and lebih interested in discovering Muzik on my own.

During this time I lived in a much colder climate than I was used to. There were trees everywhere and anda could hardly see the sky. I had to deal with snow [gag]. I really think it influenced what I listened to. I was so happy to alih back to the desert! The only really good memories I brought back with me were about the music. And the autumn leaves changing...that was beautiful. But most of the time I felt claustrophobic.

Adulthood:

A small sampling of the artists that have stayed with me through the years. I never get tired of them even though I've heard their songs a million times sejak now.

And these artists, although relatively new to me [I've only been listening to them for a few years] are definitely standing the test of time. I look ke hadapan to each new effort from them.

And these are the artists new to me that I think could be with me for a long time to come!

In conclusion, I Cinta music! Thanks for tagging along down memory lane with me.
