Honestly this genre has so much variety that I could really listen to this single genre alone for the rest of my life. Bands in this genre can mix elements such as folk, opera/classical, Industrial, orchestral soundtrack, Baroque, etc., together with basically any metal genre, the most common one being power metal, and there are also bands that use death metal vocals, either as the lone frontman or alongside operatic vocals, for those that like the heavier stuff. And they don't just mix those genres with guitars - it's not uncommon for symphonic metal bands to write (a) classical song(s) or atmospheric folk song(s) for an album, and the fans don't think anything of it, because experimenting with other genres aside from metal is almost expected in symphonic metal. The musicianship is quite top-notch as well. I could go on to say that I also love worldly, classical and opera, orchestral soundtracks, Halloween music, other metal subgenres, etc., but symphonic metal already has all of that covered.

Right! So can I. Symphonic metal is just so amazing and enchanting. The songs tell stories that you can picture in your mind's eye. As you said it has a charming blend of metal (obviously), rock, folk (love folk), Celtic, classical, pop, and it makes opera sound amazing. It literally has a well-balanced blend of everything. And the fact that they can add screamo in there and still keep the mystical mood is amazing. And then there's Within Temptation who had taken on a more mainstream style but still kept the stuff that made their music so magical. And the vocals alone are usually impressive. The soprano singers rock that shiz. They just have such powerful voices. The harmonies and melodies are smooth and natural and blend well.

Love country music.

I love all types of music but specially indie, alternative, folk, rock and pop. I also have a thing for gothic, country and cabaret (which makes me LOVE musicals) A lot of the bands I love are not even famous enough to have a fanpop club lol.
