Do anda Think the Reason why Rumpelstiltskin always wants the first-born child from everyone, is because He Lost his own?

I was thinking, that maybe because he Lost Baelfire, He's been looking for someone to replace Him! Think about it, He wanted Snow White's first-born and Cinderella's! Plus, in the original fairy tale with Rumpelstiltskin He asked for the ladies first born too! Thoughts?

agree with anda ;). Belle in epsiode 12 told him, that he wanted to have company because he's loonely.

I kinda hope that Rum/Gold makes sure the family that he gives the baby too really really wants them, which, if that is their most fervant wish, then why not take a baby away from the ones who want something else more?

Now, when he tricks them into giving up children, thats when I shake my head at his darkness and hopes he comes out better soon.
