Sorry, I was wrong. Devil fruits do NOT come from trees. When a Devil Buah user dies, the essence of the Devil fruit's power travels into the nearest Buah of it's kind and that Buah then becomes a Devil fruit, complete with a swirly pattern and a curly stem.
