i don't have that good relationship with my godmothers as i have with my aunts... :s

I don't even have a Godmother,so they aren't needed.

Aunt is more important than godmother to me but Brooke is Jamie's aunt anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Edit: Aunt is probably more important to me because i don't have a godmother. Though i've changed my mind the answer to this question completely depends on the individual situation.

The title doesn't matter as much as the actions behind it. Both roles can be complete crap if the woman filling them isn't doing a good job.
And Brooke is Jamie's aunt b/c Nate and Hales have said that Brooke is apart of their family.

She's jamie's aunt like Pheobe is Emma's aunt in friends. Peyton, Lucas, Nathan, Haley and Brooke think of themselves as a family - there for Brooke is Jamie's aunt.

Sorry,but I don't buy that Brooke or anybody is an aunt if it isn't by blood or marriage.

I totally disagree - people form bonds with non relatives that match sometimes rival that of bonds with blood relatives. To be each others family you don't have to be blood related at all. Brooke thinks of herself as his aunt, so does Jamie, so do Naley there for she is his aunt. Dictionary definitions don't apply when your talking about relationships between people.

I mean what about adoption thats introducing someone who isn't blood into your family and making them your family. The only difference is it's official in the eyes of the law - but when it comes down to how you feel about someone whether it's official or not doesn't matter.

Okay, this is probably gonna sound a bit mean, but..:
I've got one aunt. And one uncle. And two cousins.
And I've NEVER had a good relationship to my aunt. In fact, I'm pretty sure she dislikes me. And I KNOW I dislike her. She's yelling at me, and everybody around her. Everytime she visits us, or my family visits her, I'm FREAKIN nervous, cause it feels like, whatever I do, it's just not good enough for her.

I have a really good with my godmothers! They're always nice and kind, and.. Yes, I reeaally like them! :) They've been there my hole life, my aunt has too, but she's.. she's horrible.

Fair enough i guess we just disagree because i think it almost makes her more special in Jamie's life by the fact she has chosen/was chosen to be his aunt rather than just happen to be related to him.

I love my aunts and my godmother the same.

But, lefting Brooke and Peyton all of this, i think the godmother is more important.

It's simple as this: you can't choose family. But you can choose the godmother. Well not you, your parents. It's all the same. lol

Some of you don't have a godmother, so obvliously you pick aunt.

But i have a godmother. And actually, i am a godmother to my little cousin. =]
And when their parents invited me, they told me: "You know, Godmother means seconds mom. If anything happen to us, the godmother has the right to take care of the child."

And that's true. If anyting happens to the parents, i think that after the granparents it's the godfathers who take care of the child.

I'm not saying that Peyton is a bad aunt. But Brooke was choosed by Naley. That means a lot to me.

In my case I love both my godmother and my aunts but well..I feel my aunts like REALLY my family..I can say whatever i want to them etc so i guess the realetionship is kinda better!

Read the comments. I think it's ridiculous how some fans don't want Leyton to babysit Jamie because Brooke is his Godmother. Peyton will be his Aunt which is more important then Godmother.

In my case it´s my aunt, definitely. I hardly see my godmother. My mother chose my godmother because they were really close friends at the time. Every since my godmother got married and had kids she just stopped visiting us. lol

But it's not like i don't want Leyton to babysit him. If Peyton is gonna marry Lucas it's about time that she connects with her future nephew. Actually, i always wondered why she never didn't had a scene with him. It was kinda of strange to me, because Jamie is Naley son's, and Nathan and Haley are close friends with her. So for me, the Peyton/Jamie scene should already happened.

Peyton is gonna be Jamie's aunt because Lucas, who is realy his uncle, is gonna marry her. She is Jamie's aunt because of Lucas choice.

Brooke is Jamie's godmother because of Nathan and Haley choice.

Anyway, my point is that, for me, both are important, but the godmother is a little more. And in the Jamie case, considering that neither Peyton or Brooke are related to Jamie by blood, the godmother for me is even more important.

But this is just my opinion. =]

I think Godmother because well I have a better relationship with my Godmothers than my Aunt, I agree with Cas_Cat_2 it all comes down to choice if your uncle gets married it doesn`t automatically mean your going to be closer to your aunt and a godmother is a parents choice.

Anyway on OTH Brooke`s probably always going to be closer to Jamie than Peyton, I don`t think they`ve had anytime "bonding" time.

This is about Brucas fans saying team godparents! Lucas is marrying Peyton therfore she will be Jamie's aunt. Uncle and Aunt beat godparents! (again,not talking about the relationship)

I totally agree with everything SG1 is saying, I agree that blood isn't necessarily what makes family.

And I love how Leyton fans accuse Brucas fan of being bias all the time, especially when it is so obvious that Leyton fans are not bias at all (sarcasm)

aunts, godmothers, which is more imporant? um... neither, they are each important roles, and how important one if to a childs life all depends on the situation. im an aunt, i have a beautiful niece montanna i never get to see and i have little role in her life, and i am an honorary aunt, i have a non biologocal niece i see almost every day and i love her and she loves me, im not kayleighs godmother and im not an aunt through marriage or blood, but i am not important in montanna's life where as i am important in kayleigh's because she has made me imporant, and her mother and i have made the choice for me to be important.

blood? marriage? legality? means nothing in the end. its the love that matters.

Wow, I remember holidays are over so we're back to being the bitches that we are. lol. Anyway, I recently attended my cousin's son's baptism, so that makes me his aunt and I'm also one of his godmothers (like Stephie). And well, the priest said that godparents play a vital role in a child's life cause they are the ones supposed to take care of the child if the parents cannot perform they duty. On that ground, godparents are important. BUT in reality, sometimes it doesn't go that way, hell I don't even know who my godparents are! My parent's siblings and I have a very close relationship (though there are exceptions, lol and I'm not really that close with their spouse, I guess it's the blood in the works) so on that ground, aunts are important.

People are obviously going to have different opinions as they have got different relationships with their aunts and god mothers but i dont have a godmother...i think

Most people think that an aunts more important whick is fair enough but we all know that this question is only another Peyton(Aunt) vs Brooke (Godmother). So if u think about it people are only voting for Aunt more because they know its a vote for Peyton but when it comes down to it Naley picked Brooke and Lucas as godparents to Jamie because they felt that they 2 were more inportant. So to Naley it would work out that a godmother is more impotant

i never see any of my aunts so i will say i have a MUCH better relationship with my godmother than my aunts.

I have a good relationship with with Aunts and unfortunately my godparents died.
But forsake of argument I think Aunt is more important. Brooke was Sawyer's godmother but Haley is infact her aunt. And I believe family are more important than friends.
