Silence 06.15.15

Note: This installment contains hurt/comfort Skilene. Ironically, since the first Skilene installment, every fourth one has contained it. That was not intentional.

“No . . . No, stop . . .”

“Marlene.”

“Stop! Let me go!”

“Marlene!”

“You’re hurting me!”

Marlene!”

“Ah!”

Marlene sprung awake in her katil in a cold sweat. Skipper was above her, gripping her arms.

“Marlene, it’s all right,” he berkata comfortingly. “It was just a nightmare.”

Marlene looked at Skipper as if ensuring she was actually awake. Then she wrapped her arms around his neck, digging her claws into him as if he might leave.

“Skipper! I’m sorry I woke anda up!” she cried. “It was so real!”

Skipper stroked her back, ignoring the sting from her claws. “It’s all right, Marlene. I was already awake, anyway. This storm’s keeping everyone up. The boys and I were checking on everyone when I found you,” he explained.

As if on cue, a round of thunder resounded overhead.

Marlene finally started to calm herself down and she released Skipper, pushing herself to the edge of the katil to sit. Skipper sat seterusnya to her.

“You wanna talk about it?” Skipper asked after a few minit had passed and Marlene’s hati, tengah-tengah rate had returned to normal.

Marlene winced. “Not really,” she berkata quietly.

Skipper studied her. “I’m not gonna make anda talk, but I hope anda know anda can always confide in me,” he told her. lebih thunder cracked overhead.

Marlene reluctantly looked at him. “I know. I appreciate it.”

Skipper held eye contact for a moment, and then he nodded slowly. “Some of the other Haiwan took refuge in the Zoovenir Shop. anda can too, if anda want,” he said.

Marlene nodded, but she didn’t respond verbally. Skipper decided she wanted to be alone and stood, but stopped at the sound of her voice.

“Wait,” she said. Skipper stopped and looked back at her. “Could you—stay? For just a minute?” she requested.

Skipper sat down again.

“I just—ever since I met her, I’ve been having nightmares about her,” Marlene said, looking down into her paws.

Skipper’s brow lowered. “Her?” he inquired.

“My feral side,” Marlene clarified.

Skipper nodded in understanding, but then became confused again. “But I thought anda berkata meeting her made anda feel better since anda were able to control it,” he said.

“I did—at first,” Marlene replied. “But then I got to thinking. She was . . . insane. No one ever told me the whole story of what she did those few times I went outside the zoo.” She looked at Skipper like she was expecting him to tell her now.

“Well,” Skipper berkata with a sigh, “she sure put up a fight, but there’s honestly not much left to tell. No one was seriously injured.”

Marlene hugged her knees to her chest. “But she’s nothing like me. How could I turn into something like that, something so—violent?”

Skipper shrugged. “Everyone has a side to themselves they never knew they had,” he said.

Marlene looked at him. “Really? Even you?” she challenged.

Skipper nodded slowly. “Affirmative.”

“What is it?” Marlene asked.

Skipper shifted uncomfortably. “That’s, uh, classified,” he berkata without meeting her eye.

Marlene looked down. A moment passed before she said, “What if she comes back?”

Skipper looked at her. “I doubt she will. anda faced her. anda know how to control her.”

“You sound so sure about that,” she berkata shaking her head.

“Because I am,” Skipper replied. “You have nothing to be afraid of, Marlene.”

As if to mock that statement, a loud bang! of thunder broke the sound barrier, causing the two to jump. Marlene gripped Skipper’s flipper. As their hati, tengah-tengah rates calmed, Skipper pulled his flipper free and wrapped it around her protectively, looking up at the ceiling as if the storm were about to crash through it.

“How about I take anda to the park tomorrow? atau when it stops raining,” Skipper offered. “I’ll prove to anda that she’s gone for good.”

Marlene swallowed. “I don’t know . . .”

“Marlene,” Skipper berkata tipping her chin, “I’ll be with anda the whole time. At the first sign of her return, I’ll rush anda back to the zoo,” he promised.

“What if you’re too late?” Marlene asked.

Skipper smiled reassuringly. “Me, late? It’s like anda don’t know me at all, Dollface.”

Marlene smiled and rolled her eyes. “Fine. I guess we’ll give it a shot,” she agreed.

Skipper nudged her. “There’s the Marlene I know,” he berkata proudly.

Marlene laughed. “Am I always scared out of my mind?”

Skipper shook his head. “Everyone’s scared of something. It’s Berlakon in spite of that fear that makes anda brave,” he told her.

Marlene smiled gratefully, but then she frowned. “Is that what anda do?” she asked.

Skipper’s smile faded and he looked at the floor. “Yeah,” he berkata softly.

“But . . . what are you afraid of?” Marlene asked with surprise.

Skipper made that face again, as he had earlier when she’d asked about his “other side.” He refused eye contact. “Also classified.”

Marlene thought for a moment, and then she tried to meet his eye. “I’m not gonna make anda talk, but I hope anda know anda can always confide in me,” she berkata with a small smile.

Skipper looked down at her and smiled back. “I know,” he said.

Marlene sighed. “Still not gonna tell me?” she asked doubtfully.

Skipper looked away again and took a breath. “What am I afraid of? I’m afraid of losing the people I care about. I’m afraid that one hari there’s gonna be nothing I can do to prevent something bad from happening. I’m afraid of—of—” They finished together— “losing control.”

They looked at each other as silence passed between them. A sense of understanding passed between them as the storm continued to rage outside. Despite the pitter-pattering of rain, all they could hear was the sound of their own breathing and heartbeats. There was another crack! of thunder and they were snapped out of their trance.

“Heh,” Marlene berkata looking up, “maybe we should go to the Zoovenir kedai now.”

Skipper nodded. “Right. Let’s go.”

Note: I didn’t realize this until I was just about finished with it, but this kind of seemed like a retelling of Dream (installment six). I debated just completely omitting atau rewriting it, but I just really liked how it turned out. I promise I’ll avoid doing that with any other installments, however.

Kowalski and the others can't stand to see their Friends upset, so they tried to help. " Don't worry Lilly.Skipper was just speaking out of anger. He didn't mean it." Kowalski berkata as he tried to hold Lilly's flipper. She pulled away. " Kowalski, if he didn't mean it-" She paused holding back tears " He wouldn't have berkata it." Lilly walked away, into the night.

As soon as the Haiwan aproach the Terminator ride, Officer X jumps out holding a giant vacume with a strange black liquid inside. As soon as Kowalski sees the strange substence, he seems to recognize it and he slides away. " Kowalski! where are anda going!?" Screamed Private, hoping his friend would answer. " Do anda little birdies know whats in this vacume?" Asks Officer X in an evil tone. He finds a tikus and sprays it with the strange black mist. It seems to be dead. " AHHHHH!!" Screamed all the remaining penguins. (and Julien.) " This is somethi'n Ilike to call CHEMICAL X!" Explains Officer...

         Chapter 4
         The Date

Later that night both Private and Rico were ready for their dates with the badgers.

“You ready Rico?”

“Yup, you?”

“I’m not quite sure.”

“No worries,” he grunted with a smile.

“I know it’s just my first tarikh that’s all.”

“It’s ok.”

Before they went to meat the badgers, the rest of the penguins gave them a little talk.

“Well, are anda two ready for your dates?” Asked Skipper.

“Yup!”

“Y-yeah, I think.”

“Don’t worry Private,...

CHAPTER FOUR: In the sewer

"Well, we had our break now it's time to go back to the HQ." berkata Kowalski. He looked at Rico and goggled his eyes in anger. "Rico, anda give it back to me, this instance!"
"Na-aaah!" barked Rico, hiding the gameboy behind his back. He took several steps backwards, shielding his toy from Kowalski.
"THIS was the main cause of our problems!" growled Kowalski, waddling up to Rico and waving with his notepad furiously. Rico threw the gameboy up in the air and opened his beak to menelan it down, but he missed as for Kowalski made a sudden rush at him. They both landed on the...

Kowalski stood outside his home, chest puffed out proudly, feathers ruffled, a rather goofy grin on his face, as he stared at what was before him.

"Is it good, Dad? Did I do a good job?"

Kowalski looked down at his son, a young penguin with tiny tuffs of down feathers clinging to his new, slick ones, much like Kowalski's own memories, both quickly fading reminders of their past. Kowalski notes how long it had taken Kona to lose his feathers; a tahun longer than normal, but just as well, it had been the same for him. Kowalski laid a flipper on Kona's shoulder, and grinned some more.

New York City, in the middle of summer. Hot sejak anyone's standards, sweltering sejak a penguin's. Needless to say, the four penguins now standing on the artificial ice floe, to their habitat, were not pleased. Of course, they would not have been willing to put up with such heat, but after the FURNACE incident, they were not willing to take any chances with turning up the a/c.

Kowalski glared up at the sun, behind one shielding flipper. The sun did not suit him, and he was sure he did not look well in it. The others they were used to it, but long hours, shut away in his lab, had left him unaccustomed...

serigala, wolf vs. memerang, otter
Chapter 2-
The serigala, wolf
I felt my hati, tengah-tengah skip a beat as I heard the weighty krat plop on the bahagian, atas of the H.Q. We were waiting for the zookeepers to leave. We heard one of them complain a little about not understanding something in relation to our transfer. Once the zookeepers left an awkward silence filled the room. ”Okay, let’s go meet our new inhabitant spy” I berkata breaking the silence, we headed for the ladder. It was still early spring outside in the morning, I felt the chilly air run into my face as we lined up in front of the krat side sejak side. We waited silently not...

Kowalski descended down the ladder into the penguin’s HQ, having just gotten Skipper to confess one of his deepest secrets. His vision panned from one side to the other, scanning the inside for the other penguins.

Rico was sitting in the corner as usual, brushing his doll’s hair and cooing at her. Seeing thing brought a smile to Kowalski’s face. Even though he thought of their relationship as weird, it was still kinda cute to see Rico act like that and Kowalski couldn’t help but smile at the manic bird.

His eyes continued to pan until they fell upon Private. The youngster was sitting...

Rico missed his doll.

He missed the plastic female that was always just the right size for a warm hug; her long, blonde hair, her silent and mysterious personality. She was probably the only one that truly understood the lonely penguin. Everyone else seemed to just judge him; but not her. She accepted Rico for who he was, and nothing more. She never argued with him, and she always allowed Rico to have the first word in everything. If only there were lebih women like her.

But there wasn’t; only her…

This was all very stupid. Pointless. Irritating. Depressing. Frustrating.

Rico could think of...

Note To Self,

Tonight, Skipper decided to avert our attention from the gloomy situation sejak screening a variety of films. The majority of which included documentaries of different sorts of animals. Skipper seemed to have skipped the penguins’ film. I can’t blame him. The contents of that video were horrid beyond belief. Anyway, Rico appears to be well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has already started to feel at utama with Marlene. I can’t very well say the same for me, though. I miss him. But, I’ve also discovered something about our relationship. I admit that my actions towards him...

This was the peak of things…

It was time to confront this lust that had yet to take flight. But how would he do it? Kowalski couldn’t simply step out and say it!

Say what?

What would he even say?! Should he say anything? It seemed to work well for Rico!

This was much too difficult than it should have been. Why was it so damn hard?!

It was his fault; this ridiculous, complicated process of thought. This would never work out; he and Rico. They were so different from one another. He had often heard that opposites were lebih likely to feel attracted to one another, but this was going crossing...

“I’m sorry, Skippa…‘fraid I can’t remember…” Private whispered with his head low. The small penguin had received quite a waking that morning. He didn’t even have enough time to leave his bunk when Skipper and Kowalski confronted him. As promised, Skipper hadn’t asked a single soalan about Private’s disappearance and injury until now.

“C’mon, Private, anda can’t really expect us to believe that!” Skipper narrowed his eyes with a frown spreading across his beak.

The timid penguin shyly moved to sit on the edge of his bunk, his head retaining its low position. From the...
