I felt really bad for Brandon she kept pushing him away. He is too kind and sweet to deserve that. Maybe at the end she came to her senses?

weell, it's hard.. although Marianne is my least favourite heroine, and she seems not to deserve him, but she's too young, and we can forgive her love to Willoughby...

Don't get me wrong, I love the 'Marianne type', so passionate and burning... but she somehow demonstrated not to bee so sensitive with poor Colonel! Aw I felt so bad for him.

I think so. She had her first love and her first broken heart. I think what turned her off of Colonel Brandon at first was the fact that Mrs. Jennings was in such strong support of the match. Since she was so young, she couldn't comprehend falling in love with a man in his 30's (she saw his age first before she saw the man). He was so quiet, and Willoughby was outwardly charming and romantic. When she realized that Willoughby's outwardness hid the true nature of the man inside, she learned to look harder. When Brandon rescues her and rides a great distance to bring her mother to her, then she sees Brandon and the romantic he truly is. At the end, when she asks him if he will be away long, it is clear to see that she has, in fact, started to see him romantically. And as Jane Austen pointed out, Marianne could never love by halves ... and did love Brandon very much.

OK, maybe she doesn't, but Colonel Brandon loves her. Whether she deserves him or not, they should be together because Colonel Christopher Brandon loves her.

Plus you have the fact that she loves him, too. She's impulsive, so when Willoughby came along with all his dashing charm, she just couldn't resist. And by the end of the movie/book, we find that she's matured a lot. At the beginning, the choice would've been a little harder, but by the end, she had fully proved her worth.
