Cinders Just because a girl is young when she has sex doesn't mean she's doing it for the wrong reasons, that she wasn't thinking, or that she wasn't being safe. You don't know these girls, and you don't know their lives. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I never judge anyone for the choices they have made, whether they regret them or not.

I didnt say that she couldn't have sex, nor did she do it because it was wrong to do so. but she shouldnt have it at such a young age, with all the problems people face today, the man could break her heart, leave her, she could get pregnant (and if your pregnant at 14, people criticize) also, girls at that age who has sex make other girls at my age look like we dont care if we have it, then that leads to guys who want to have sex with us, people abuse us, or there can be snobs out there who just call us sluts or whores. I dont HATE these girls, im just saying it wouldnt be safe to have intercourse as such a young age.

LadyLilith Wow, stereotyping much? You seem to generalize that all girls who had sex under 15 or 14 were stupid who just did it to be 'cool,' and didn't know what the hell they were doing. I greatly resent this generalization. I understand what you're saying, I really do. But you could have phrased it better. This just seems to be an attack, and quite frankly it offended me. I lost my virginity at age 15, and I knew precisely what I was doing. I was in a serious relationship with the man I thought I would be with for the rest of my life; we waited 5-6 months before we had sex. He was a virgin too, so we both gave ourselves to one another. The relationship didn't last, but it's because we both matured and decided that we wanted more. Sometimes I regret that I didn't wait, but for the most part I'm okay with it. I accept that it happened, and it made me grow as a person. I know that not everyone can say this, but the generalization you had in your article is wrong. I'm a happy 19 year old, emotionally mature and moving on strong in life. I don't think I'm a whore for losing it so early; I was in love. I don't think anyone who loses it young is a 'whore,' that's stupid to say. Women who sleep around with anyone, not caring about themselves are the true definitions of whores. I still pick and choose who I have sex with, and if a man doesn't respect me all bets are off. I understand your intentions, but your article was offensive. I agree that women should be careful about losing their virginity, for it is indeed a gift. But the article itself could have been much more well written, at least just not stereotyping young girls. Because I was certainly not like those you depicted in the article.

I understand my words may look offensive to you, but in truth thats not what i was getting at at all. Merribelle Maybe you should rephrase your article then. I'm 14 and I have friends who are no longer virgins. They are strong women and I know they can take care of themselves physically and emotionally. I would say more, but I think it's all been said by the others. Like Cinders said, you don't know these girls, you don't know how they make their choices.

I've had girls younger than me come and tell me that they've had sex, and I think they're making the wrong choice, but it IS their choice. I teach older people as well, I was helping a 23 year old guest a couple months ago, and she told me she has sex at 12, married the man at 17, and they have been living together happily for 6 years. As has been said, you don't know them. You can't judge without knowing.

Ninja-Kitten You never clarified that. The way I read it, you said "It is not cool to say "hey yeah look at me i had sex already im so awesome" well, its NOT awesome." Am I missing something? You never said anything about responsible girls, it sounds like you assumed that everyone does it to be cool. As Trix said before, maybe you should rephrase your article?

One of my friends told me about this day that she was at primary school and she went into the toilets and there were like grade 3s or grade 4s or something having sex! but I agree, you could've written it better, but seeing as it was 3:00 in the morning i don't blame you

irena83 I'm glad you wrote this article, and it is true. Young girls think (most of them) that having sex in that age (13,14,15,16) is alright. But, in fact they are just so CURIOUS and want to try all those things as fast as they can. However, that's wrong. Not just about that fact somebody can label you,and that label always stays, but because you need to think first before you do something, you need to respect yourself. I'm 27 and I feel sorry when I hear that 14-years old girl got pregnant or did drugs or had a few sexual partners. Scary. And that's not MATURE DEFINITELY. That's a sound of a rebellion.
