Hometown Chapter One
Hi everyone!! I ended one story and had an idea for a new one! Please komen and like to let me know what anda think about it!!
I was excited to be back. We were arriving in my mom's hometown. Dad berkata we lived here until I was five. We then moved once she had died. It has been my dad and I ever since. I was actually kind of nervous about all of this. A new school, new people, and having to make new friend. I was use to moving around and I was use to new people too. But new friends. That was a completely different story. I had never made friends. Dad and I moved around to much for me to make friends. But this was going to be my last two years of high school for me so, dad decided to alih us back home.
I was hoping everything about this would make me remember mom. Dad had bought a small house before he told me about the move. I don't know if he had so much bought it recently atau had kept it a secret from me for a while.
Every time I asked dad about mom he would never say anything. He would just completely ignore me until I walked away. The only thing I had left of mom was her language. She was Deaf. I knew her language like the back of my hand. I had picked it up really easy when I was baby and did not speak until the age of five. Dad use to get mad at me for signing. I think it reminded him of mom. I would not know this if it was not for one of his journals I had found and read.
I had already unpacked all my things from the boxes that lined the hallway. I was use to unpacking and packing. Some things I left in the boxes as a force of habit. But I would be here for the rest of high school. Hopefully!
The town was nice and small. I could easily navigate through here with my bike. I was not allowed to have a car at all. Which was unfair but I have learned to stop asking dad about it.
I rode my bike through the town to see it again. I wanted to know everything about this town. This is where my mom lived and grew up at. I could not believe I was back. I have dreamt about this for a long time! As I rode around the town, I notice there were not any kids out playing at the park. I then realized that it was still school time here. I had to get use to this time change. I hoped it would not be too bad.
I rode sejak a small building with a large, green field behind the building. There were some kids out there playing some kind of game, so this must have to be the school. I didn't look too long. I didn't want to be the new weird girl who goes around staring at people.
I made it back utama in one piece.
"Dad I am back," I yelled as I came in the front door.
He never answered me.
"Dad," I asked as I stood at the door.
"Dad, are anda home," I yelled louder.
"I'm right here," he berkata as he came from the living room, "I answered anda back. Why did anda yell so many times?"
"I didn't know that. I could not hear you," I stated.
"Yes anda could," he berkata as he shrugged it off.
Stuff like this had been happening for months. Dad didn't believe me when I berkata I could not hear him. But I was probably overacting.
I went to my room and unpacked the few boxes that were left.
"It's makan malam, majlis makan malam time," dad berkata as he came into my room.
"Good, I am starving! What's for dinner," I asked.
"I ordered pizza. I hope that is alright," he said.
"Fine sejak me," I shrugged.
Dad grabbed the paper plates while I filled the solo cups up with ice. Dad had not gone shopping at all, so we had water with our pizza.
"Are anda excited about starting school tomorrow," he asked trying to make conversation.
"I guess so. It's like all the other times," I stated, "they are usually the worst. I'm the new girl who no one will talk to cause no one wants a newbie."
"Well, I am sure anda be just fine," dad berkata as he finished off his pizza.
"Probably so," I shrugged.
I cleaned makan malam, majlis makan malam up and took out the trash. It just so happened that a guy came walking out of the house seterusnya to mine. He was tall and really cute. He was also taking out the trash. I threw the sack in the can and went inside.
"Dad, do anda know anyone who lives here," I asked as I came through the door.
"Yeah, your grandparents live here. Along with your aunt and uncle," he berkata casually.
"Wait, anda never told me anything about grandparents, aunts and uncles," I stated.
"It's your mom's parents, brother, and sister-in-law," he berkata as he stared at the tv.
"Why have anda never told me about them," I asked.
"You never asked," he said.
"Yeah I will just bite my tongue," I berkata as walked off.
I quickly dismissed what dad berkata and tried to concentrate on other stuff. Like, what should I wear to school. This was a big issue for me. I usually don't stress over close but I was going to be here for a while and I needed to make some friends. What kind of clothes attract friends. Tomorrow would be the toughest first hari of school I have ever had.
Today was the day. I got up and threw on something cute but comfy. Gathered up some school supplies, grabbed some money for lunch and headed out the door.
I had to say this was the most nerve wracking first hari of school ever. I was so worried about making friends. It was not a very big school at all.
I found my way to class and the teacher had already started.
"Everyone, meet our newest student. Talulah Hart," the teacher berkata as I stood at the back of the door.
Every quickly turned around and looked at me. I swallowed hard.
"Talulah, why don't anda come up here and tell us about yourself," she suggested.
My eyes got big as I slowly made my way to the front of the room.
"My name is Talulah Hart. But anda can call me Talli," I said.
"Where are anda from," the teacher asked.
"I am originally from here but I moved when I was five. I have lived in five different states since I moved away from here," I said.
"Oh wow," she said, "well, my name is Miss Myers and welcome back to Arrow Point!"
"Thank you," I smiled as I blushed.
"oh Talulah, do anda know how to speak Swachy," she asked.
"Yeah I remember some," I stated.
"Would anda please recite something," she asked.
"I don't know what to say," I stated.
"Anything," she berkata smiling.
"Anything," I signed in Swachy.
"Just say something," some kid said.
"Just say something," I signed mocking the kid.
"How do anda Swachy Sign Language," Miss Myers asked.
"My mom was deaf," I said.
"I haven't seen anyone use Swachy Sign Language in a while," she stated, "could anda please say what anda signed."
"I signed, Just say something already," I said.
"Could please speak it in Swachy," she asked.
"I don't know how to speak Swachy," I berkata as I blushed.
"That okay, most of the kids here are having trouble," Miss Myers berkata as she looked at most of the boys.
Speaking of boys, my class was almost all boys. There were very few girls in this class. The girls that were in my class all say across the room from me. They didn't look to friendly either. Hopefully, they would come to like me. atau else I am stuck with guy friends. Which was fine sejak me because they were really cute.
School was half was over and it was lunch time. We were allowed to go soy outside to eat our lunch. All the girls stayed inside because it was really hot outside. But I did not mind the heat so I sat outside alone. But sitting alone gave me the chance to really take this place in. It was a small school house and very cute on the outside. I faced away from the school and looked at their large field. It looked like most football fields but there were no field goal post and not painted lines. It could not be a Bola sepak field either the nets were much too small. Then I noticed a kid out on the field sejak himself. He had a stick in his hand. He was practicing lacrosse. So this school had a lacrosse team! I have played some before but nothing serious. Maybe this is what I needed to make friends!
