Hate me, but she's a wild card

silver93 She's too old. And she's too famous. I like Vanessa, I think she can act. But, she's not the type of actress we need for the movie to be taken seriously. It needs to make its own name and create its own image, otherwise Hollywood will tear apart something we all care about.

SaveMe620 I understand the "too famous" bit, but too old? As I've pointed out a lot of other times, there's a lot of celebs nowadays that are well into their mid-late twenties still playing teens: Vampire Diaries cast, Twilight Cast, 90210 cast, Shia LaBeouf & Megan Fox, etc. Vanessa isn't Hollywood though. She's just one person that would do her job the way she's told to do it. Not tearing it apart. It's usually because of the fans that the media grabs a hold of it, which then tears it apart.

cleo13491 Vannessa can't act or sing that well, and I really don't think I could tolerate the high school musical starlet playing katniss. I honestly think she'd butcher it.

SaveMe620 I'm personally not much of a fan of hers, but compared to some other choices people have made [Emily Browning, Kristen Stewart...] it could be worse.

silver93 I like Kristen Stewart, not for Katniss, but as an actress. Vanessa is too old. Katniss is under nourished and these movies are going to be going on for a couple of years. You need someone around her real age. I didn't say Vanessa was going to tear it apart. I meant Hollywood in general:execs, the press, managers ext. If they see a way to make more money they don't care how far they have to twist the material away from its original form.

SaveMe620 Kristen annoys the shit out of me. She seriously can't act, so whenever people 'fan cast' her I always wonder if they want the movie to fail. That's what happened with Twilight. Summit became greedy. I understand that Vanessa is too old; it was just a suggestion.

silver93 I think she can act, and so do a lot of critics, directors, and other actors. But, your entitled to your opinion. And yeah, I know. That's why I didn't scream and call you an idiot or anything. I'm sure we'll be seeing her in a lot of things soon. Eventually people will get past the whole high school musical thing.

Stellina199722 well.....she doesn't show emotion very well and I think the cast should be unknown actors. I also really hope they teach the actress of katniss how to shoot a bow properly. I know had nothing to do with what they were talking about just wanted to say it.
