Lady Macbeth is to me the most intriguing and unique of Shakespeare's characters. His presentation of her as a woman of the time was truly unique and her powerful strength throughout the play has always appealed to me. She is a remarkable and powerful character especially when considering the portrayal of women at the time.

Beatrice and Rosalind are two of Shakespeare's best female characters. They are both strong willed and facetious, very un-chauvinistic of Shakespeare. Also, their characters are very defined from the start of both Much Ado About Nothing and As You Like it.

Macbeth

All of his characters are strong. How does one pick the lesser of greatness? Macbeth is my great love because like Bloom said he is the character that most reminds us of ourselves. I feel like I really got to know him because we were able to see the depths of his conscience, pysche, and soul, and it was so human. Iago and Falstaff are also marvelous because the former is a devilish genious whom I could only imagine the possibilities for if he would have used his powers for good. Falstaff is so tragically honest and flawed which makes him so real.
