A new version of Romeo & Juliet is being released this year. The twist: The couple will be using Instagram (basically Romeo & Juliet 1996 film meets 2021 version) Thoughts on this idea?

A good, timeless story should be able to work transferred into other eras. I think it could be a fun idea depending how they handle the romance! (In other words, don't downplay it atau make it out to be shallow atau insubstantial.) And to be honest, I think this would probably work a lot better than keeping the story in its own era but forcing modern ideals into it.

It sounds like it's turning something timeless into something that's "flavor of the month." That doesn't mean it'll be bad, but it does sound a bit cringy.
