My hati, tengah-tengah rate increased, causing my hati, tengah-tengah monitor to start beeping erratically. Not at the sight of Cameron, but at the sight of Mercury.

Cameron must've noticed because he ran up to me and said, "Vanessa, calm down."

I kept my eyes on Mercury. "What's she doing here?"

"You should be greatful that I came to see you", Mercury said.

"Mercury..." Cameron turned to face me. "She drove me here."

"After he hit you, the police too his car away", Mercury said, grabbing my Televisyen vision remote and changing the channel.

"Hey!"

"Don't worry about the television, Vanessa." Cameron sat down on the sofa, kerusi panjang chair closest to my bed. "Let's get started on what anda missed." He placed the buku on the night meja, jadual and grabbed the one on top. "In Geometry...." As he explained to me everything I missed, I couldn't help but feel as though he and I were the only one in the room.

"Cameron, babe, could anda get me some water", Mercury said. Her voice slicing right through my trance.

"It's on the meja, jadual beside you." He gestured to the merah jambu pitcher of water.

"That's gross hospital water! Get me some from the vending machine down the hall, please?" She looked at him with pleading eyes.

He looked at me. "Fine." He closed the book, put it on the sofa, kerusi panjang chair cushion he was sitting on, got up, and left the room.

Mercury got up from the sofa, kerusi panjang chair opposite of me. She closed the room door. "I know what you're trying to do", she berkata walking towards me.

I grabbed the nurse button for protection. "What are anda talking about?"

"Trying to take Cameron from me."

Is she serious? "Are anda serious?" Then it came to me. "You think I did this to myself?"

"Of course not. Cameron helped you."

"Huh?"

"Don't play dumb. anda saw his car that night on the road. And anda jumped in front of his car."

"You're being serious? Why would I do that?"

"Because anda were looking for attention. The fact that Cameron was spending so much time with me was killing you. So anda pull this stunt."

"You seriously think that I would purposely run in front of Cameron's car just to get attention?"

She nodded.

"Unbelievable."

Cameron came back into the room with a bottle of water. "What's going on?"

"Just fluffing V's pillow!" She pretended to fluff my pillow. "There." She patted my head like I was a dog. Then she took her kerusi, tempat duduk back on the sofa, kerusi panjang chair she was sitting in, and watched television.

Cameron closed the door behind him. He went over to Mercury to give her the bottle of water.

"Thanks babe." She grabbed him sejak the baju and kissed him. For 5 whole minutes.

Bitch.

Once she broke the embrace, Cameron cleared his throat and came back to sit beside me. "Now back to the lesson.."

Today.
Today was the day.
The hari I was going to find out was he really my older brother?
I met him when I was 8. When both my foster parents died.
He was there trying to make me feel better. He was nice and kind. From that hari on he was always sejak my side making me slime whenever I was upset.
Some Friends of my real parents berkata that I had a brother but they never knew what happened to him. I truly hope that he is my brother. He was 3 years older than me and they say that he was about 3 years older than I was.

My world was dark.

The only thing I could see was the events that just took place; me running into the road, me seeing the car, the car crashing into me. It was like someone put my mind on replay.

I opened my eyes. Everything was hazy. Something bright shined in my eyes. It stung. I turned my head. There are flashing lights everywhere. My eyes finally come back to focus.

Police cars. An ambulance. The car that hit me. My towns news station.
