Sweets went into labor shortly after 5:30 last night. We were so busy, we didn't have time to contact Colby before about 8:15. Her labor was mercifully short, and Tesla was born about 6:15 PM PST, with very little effort.

He's exhibited a strange characteristic, though. Here’s the story:

Right after he was born, cleaned up and dried, he started to nurse, as we all know is normal. Sweets was laying on some blankets we laid out on the floor for Tesla and her, letting him suckle. Jeena and I were close by, gently stroking Tesla's bulu and talking to him. All was calm and peaceful. For a few minutes, anyway.

He suddenly pulled away, and growled "All of you! Get away from me! NOW!" His bulu started standing up all over, and we all did what he said. He stood up on his shaky little legs and wobbled over to a bare spot on the floor, away from the blankets. We gathered around him, since we were obviously worried. Then there was a crackling sound coming from him, faint at first, then louder and louder. Then there was a blue glow all around him, brighter and brighter, until we couldn't menanggung, bear to look at him. And then, there was a loud "ZZZZAAAPPP!" and the feeling like lightning had struck really close by.

When we looked at him again, Tesla was standing at the center of a blackened area on the floor, probably about 3 feet in diameter. And if anda think THAT'S weird, then get this: he'd seemingly instantly grown to the size of a pup of about 2 months atau so. After we'd recovered from the shock (pun intended), we went to him and looked him over. He seemed fine, if a bit tired. He laid down where he was, and growled "DAMN all this stress from the last few days!" Sweets asked him "Do anda need lebih milk, baby boy?" He grinned, menunjukkan a full set of anjing, anak anjing teeth "With teeth like this, what do anda think, Mom?" I berkata "Get that boy a hamburger!" I actually DID make a quick run to town once I knew everyone would be all right while I was gone, and got us all 'burgers for dinner, since I hadn't had time to fix anything.

We held back on announcing Tesla’s birth so that we could get him to Colby to be checked over to make sure he was all right, and so we could get things set up, including this article. His early arrival has had us scrambling here at home.

He seems to be a normal 2-month-old pup, if a little advanced even for that age. And a quick heads-up to everyone who might be talking with him - he’s got a definite Alpha personality. This includes his use of some of the “colorful” words in the English language, but nothing extreme. Also, if anda touch him, he might give anda a bit of a shock, kind of like a static “zap”, but nothing lebih than that, unless he’s upset, startled, atau angry. We’re (understandably, I hope) unwilling to test how much of a shock he’s able to give, so we don’t know if he can repeat his “lightning power” thing atau not. Now that he’s out in the world, though, we know he won’t hurt anyone purposely unless he’s provoked. He’s eager to meet everyone in our pack here, so we’ll probably be putting him on either Sweets’s account atau mine, so he can talk for a while later on today.
