It was a warm hari in jasper park. The weather was perfect. Humphrey was sitting with garth on the small hillside leading to the head alpha's dens, waiting for kate to finish getting ready.
"She's been in there for hours!" he complained.
"It's a big hari for her, humphrey." garth responded. "If I were you, i'd smarten yourself up."
"I got ready ages ago!"
"What did anda wash your bulu with? Frogspawn?"
"Very funny, barf."
"Glad to be of amusement, koyote."
Humphrey turned to make a retort when suddenly there was a commotion down near the bottom of the hill. Two omegas were fighting over a steak.
"IT'S MINE!"
"YOU'VE HAD YOURS! LET GO!"
"OI!" garth yelled. "If anda two can't share that, i'll have it. Understood?"
They didn't respond.
"I asked anda a question. I don't care who took it."
"Sorry, garth."
"You will be." he turned back to humphrey "See, that's how anda have to be when a fight breaks out. Firm. A head alpha isn't around to be popular."
"Does help, though." Humphrey said. "Garth, I wanted to ask anda somthing."
"Hmm?"
"What do anda think-"
"OI! DON'T anda DARE EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, anda LAZY LOUT! YOU'VE HAD YOUR SHARE!"
A greedy looking omega jumped back from the Makanan pile. "Sorry humphrey, anda were saying?"
"What do anda think I should do with kate once we're married? I've been so nervous about the ritual I haven't had time to think about anything else."
"It's simple, humphrey. Kate is just lonely. She wants to know that someone cares for her."
"So?"
"Tell her anda Cinta her."
Humphrey was about to soalan him thurther, when he heard kate shouting his name.
Kate had emerged from the den with a large group of Friends who had been getting her ready. And humphrey had to admit, she looked stunning. There was a red bunga in her hair. Her teeth were perfectly white. She was blushing. Humphrey took her paw. She didn't say anything, which was probably just as well. He wouldn't have been able to respond. His voice had gone.
Saltey, as usual, went through the mating ritual with them, and when they were finished, Humphrey decided to put garth's Nasihat into action. He leaned close to kate's little ear and whispered:
"I Cinta you."
Kate seemed to jump. Her cheeks had gone red. It was such a wonderful effect that humphrey decided to try it again.
"I Cinta you."
"Humphrey" she managed. "I- I don't know what to say."
"Don't say anything, then. Just Ciuman me."
She leaned towards him.
"Hey, anda two!"
They jumped apart. It was marcel who had spoken. I small group of humphrey's mob and even some of kate's approched.
"Caught anda at a bad time, did we?"
"Bad?" kate asked. "No, we were just-"
"Congratulations, anda two." saltey moved to the front, pushing marcel over. "It's going to be rough for us without you, but... life moves on."
"At least we still have golf!" Marcel berkata exitedly.
"You know, I actualy thought that he was going to say somthing that didn't completely ruin the mood then." mooch muttered.
There was a long silence.
"We'll go away, then," shakey said. "Happy honeymoon!"
"Eh, thanks, guys!" humphrey shouted after them.
"So." kate berkata to him. "Where were we."
Humphrey held her close.
"About here." he said.
Chris sat at his meja 80 miles away. I guess sat isn't really the right word. It was lebih like sleeping. And that's because he was. The large pile of coffee cups beside him that he had used to keep himself awake had evidently not had an effect. A nuclear powered laptop sat on the meja seterusnya to him, menunjukkan Chris's Avatar getting mauled sejak some green exploding things with four legs. Photographs on the dinding looked at individualy showed happy memories. But there was somthing lebih to them. They were in the order they had been taken. anda could see the members of Chris's family slowly dissapearing, first kenny, then smithers. Kenny had fallen off a cliff in a jeep, smithers had died of lung cancer. Equaly horrible ways to die. The clock on the dinding struck 8. For a moment, nothing happened. Then Chris's model train did it's daily base jump, and the clock bounced of chris's head. Followed sejak a cup of earl grey.
"Speugh?" Chris got up and looked around. He'd been sleeping on his arm. It was numb. "Ugh.."
He looked around. It was 8! He was late for work! He got up, looked a the cups, put two and two together and swore. Pausing only to turn the computer off, he jumped into his van and set off. Today was a big hari for him. He was unvieling a weapon that he had worked on for weeks. A weapon which would change war forever.
It was called the MotorGun.
It wasn't the most powerful weapon in the world. That was in his notebook. He had worked on his presentation all night. He finished it off with one hand while steering with the other.
He arrived at a small, deserted looking building in the city center. This building was anything but deserted. anda could see that sejak looking at the way his govornment employers had quietly stepped on any attempts to redevelop the area. He scanned his eye with a small brick that was lying on the ground, and, after a short delay, the dinding opened before him.
"Welcome, Chris Dent." a computer said.
"Shut up." Chris wasn't in a good mood. He hadn't had time for breakfast, he felt tired, and worst of all, his kitkat had snapped in half as he got out of the van.
He knocked on a door with a sign Membaca AUDATIRIUM 1 - BACKSTAGE
It opened. "Ah, Dr. Chris. Where've anda been?"
"Sorry, sir." chris said. "Slept in again. Working all night." he spoke in very short scentences.
"It isn't a problem. Please, come in."
"Thanks."
The man's name was tim. anda could tell he was an agent because he wore sunglasses in dark rooms.
"So, chris. Tell me about this motorgun of yours."
"It's quite complex. I'll be covering everything in the presentation." chris told him, hanging his kot up.
Tim looked dissapointed.
"I could tunjuk anda it if anda want."
"Well, okay then."
Chris pulled a massive rubbery gun out of his bag. It had an open end and a touchscreen on the back, as well as a few dials and levers. It was very big.
"These'll cost a fortune to make, chris.." tim said, after examining it.
"Well, that's where you're wrong. It's called a MOTORgun because everything runs of a single very powerful motor."
Tim looked confused.
"Presentation." chris told him.
"I'll be there, chris. You've got me hooked."
Just then, someone tapped chris on the sholder. "You're on."
Tim darted away.
Chris stepped out into the noisy audatirium. They had set up the powerpoint he had made the sebelumnya week and emailed to them.
"Silence, please."
Everyone went quiet. Chris took the motorgun out and sat it on the floor.
"This," he told them, "Is called a MotorGun. I know it looks expensive, but it isn't. anda know why? Because it runs off a single motor and a battery. Not a massive battery. Just a normal one." He held up a small battery.
Applause.
"Now, I presume you're wondering what this all does."
Everyone cheered.
"That was retorical." Chris said, gesturing for the audience to be silent once more. "This gun can be used for many things. A machine gun that fires rubbish, for example"
He took out a small tin can. "I found this on the pavement outside. It will be ideal for this test.
Now, the gun contains a small cloning chamber which will probably make up most of the cost. Let me tunjuk anda how it works."
He set the can on the floor, adjusted the gun via the touch screen and aimed it at the tin can. He pulled the trigger and it was sucked in.
Silence.
Then suddenly, 30 perfect copies of that tin can sprang out of the side of the gun on a clip. The original was fired out of the top. Then he took aim at the large training target at the other side of the stage and fired. The target was within saat reduced to rubble sejak the onslaught of rubbish. "I'll pay for that." Chris told the audience. "Now, if you're worried that this will polloute the planet, forget it." He gestured towards the tin cans which desintergrated. "Clones are incredibly biodegradable. However, I can still reuse the original." He advanced his powerpoint. "Now, onto the grappling hook. It's very simple, just put the gun into the right mode, and..." He fired at the dinding and the end sprang off it. It suckered onto the dinding and he was pulled off his feet. The motor was working overtime. Chris wasn't exactly a healthy person. He'd hardly eaten any Buah for the 15 years he'd lived. But it worked.
"What else does it do?" someone asked.
"There's a built in disruptor." He aimed at the projector and made it flicker. "And suck and blow functions." he demonstrated those. "I hope that these will very soon be on the market. Thank you, and goodbye."
"There was one man in the audience, though. He was looking at me. If looks could kill, i'd be in two halves." chris berkata to tim later.
"Well, I thought it went rather well." berkata tim. "You were brilliant. Don't worry about that sort of thing. You're only fifteen. anda have your entire life ahead of you. Don't let a dirty look ruin your day."
"I suppose so." chris responded. "Hey, what's this?" He'd found a note in his coat.
"Interesting." berkata tim, Membaca over his sholder. "Someone's not happy about somthing."
Tim ranked above chris, but he had been a good friend to him all the same. Even now, as chris left, he promised him he'd supply soldiers all over the world with motorguns. But chris was worried. Worried about the note written in blood.. THEY WILL BETRAY YOU, it said. DO NOT TRUST THEM atau anda WILL DIE.
