Critical Analysis of Twilight Article: Bella Swan: A Rant

Hi there! This is my first artikel on the C.A.T spot, about my least kegemaran character in twilight. Actually, my least kegemaran character in history.

Bella Swan.

I seriously can't see why so many twilight peminat-peminat like her. She is berkata to be selfless, caring, understanding, and a good role model...when really she's the most selfish character in the whole book series.
Now then, here are several reasons why I dislike Bella.

1) Lack outside of Edward

Has Bella -even once- mentioned in any of the novels what she wanst to do with her life? (Besides wanting to be a vampire to be with Edward forever) Not once. She doesnt want to go to colledge, she has no hobbies (unless anda count whining a hobby), and has no goals whatsoever. It seems that her whole life is Edward and wanting to be a vampire. What does tha say to readers? That we should give up everything to be with a man?

2) Friends

Now, the minit Bella steps into Forks she's the most popular girl there. All guys want her, and all the girls are her friend. There all very nice to her, but admit it, she a crappy friend. She hardly even talks to any of them unless to use them, and doesnt seems intrested in them at all. When Edward leaves her in new moon, she ignores all of them for months when she goes into her Zombie State. Wow, what a great friend.
Also, she treats her best friend, Jacob, sometimes like dirt. He was helping her in new moon, and the minit Edward comes back, she throws Jacob to the side like a used napkin, when he helped her.

3) Lets Edward Push Her Around

Now, why many see Edward as the perfect boyfriend, I, for one, think he's just abusive. Yes, he does have his moments, but...come on, he took the engine out of her car to prevent her from seeing Jacob. If I were Bella, I perahu nelayan kecil, pukulan him. But Bella just uses the excuse, "its because he loves me" and "he just overprotective"
Right.
What happened to Girl Power?

4) Whining
Oh. My. God.
She whines like a little girl ALL THE TIME!
Especially in New Moon!
Everytime she went on about this "whole in her chest", atau complained, I wanted to throw the book at the wall. How many times I wanted to yell "Get yourself together girl", I don't really know.
Also, in new moon, her persanality is just flat and obsessive.

5) Reapeats About Edwards "Hotness"
Okay, Bella made a reference to Edwards beauty 165 times...

In the first book!

sejak the middle of twilight, I was rolling my eyes, thinking 'Okay, we get it. anda think he's hot. Moving on."
Honestly, I don't think the buku would be so big if she kept making commenst about his "beauty." Honestly, is she in Cinta with him atau his looks? Guess we will never know.

Okay, thats it folks! There are probaly other reason why I dislike Bella...actually there's a thousand, but I wont go into them right now. This however, is just the main 5 reasons I don't like Bella.
To end this, I would like to say I am very sorry if I offended anyone. I just wanted to share my opinion. If anda are a Bella fan, then thats is absoutly fine, I don't have a problem with that. Once again, I'm just sharing my opinion.

kateliness2 Great article... the part that bugs me most is the friends thing. I love Jacob, and she treats him like crap. And I totally agree on Edward's creepy-ness/borderline abuse.

katiecain All the points are very true. Well, 4 doesn't really bother me, her 'whining' in New Moon is one of my favourite parts of the book but I get what you mean xD 3, I would have smacked Edward too if he done that!

theEvildude You rock. Bella is also one of my least favorite characters, next to Edward Sparklepire. Let's give a moment to Tyler's van for its valiant attempts to rid the world of Bella Sue once and for all.

twinklystar_hp woohoo!! awesomeee!! bella swan is my least favourite character too! though i liked her until eclipse...eclipse marked her downfall in my view.. adding to your points are some more reasons why i hate her: 6) she is damn CONFUSED: why doesn't she wanna MARRY the guy whose name she takes while eating, talking, sleeping, breathing, fainting?? like u said in point 1- she hardly has ANY GOALS HOBBIES or any other interests than edward.. she doesn't give a crap abt any friends..all she wants is to be turned into a vamp and be with edward - yet one thign he asks her (to marry him) and she can't do that?? Edward or Jacob? i thought her heart was settledd with edward - then why the whole damn "i love u both" thing?? why kissing jacob back, and then calling him her sun, her soulmate?? she named her kid EJ - EDWARD JACOB - that was SOO..ughhhh...she loved edward..she knows jake loves her but she can't be with him - yet she can't tell him to go away and find some1 else..it's liek she wants to have both the cakes together... 7) mother ?? ok...i get the whole 'mom loving kid" thing..but hey..twilight was abt EDWARD BELLA..she claimed to love edward more than her life..yet where the hell did that love and trust go after the kid was born?? i mean she didn't confide in edward..she didn't TRRUST HIM...she trusted rosalie OVER EDWARD..she reduced edward to a doormat..to a spineless husband who goes around asking other guys to sleep with hsi wife... i mean WHAT THE HEY?? Helloooo is this Bellaaa?? REALLLYY?? 8) i agree edward cullen IS THE BEST GUY EVER... but hey like u said - bella needed to get some life of her own! i mean yeah fine love on one side, but she treated her own family, her friends, her careeer, her future, even her LIFE (humanity) as a peice of cake..ok that is just so so wrong.. so i HATE BELLA SWAN! oh and i hate breaking dawn!

I dislike the books, but after seeing image after image labeled "Twilight sucks", as well as komen after komen with the words, I'm beginning to see why we can be accused of being "haters."

"Sucks" is not a swear word. To say something sucks is not going to send anda to hell. But it is derogatory, and immature, and does not lead to any real discussion. Well, unless some mature Twilighter comes along and say, "I see that anda think Twlight sucks. Why?" That might spark discussion. Yes, it's true, everyone! Twilight has changed our world in several ways!!

No longer are streets near movie theaters and bookstores safe! I haven't seen even one free from screaming fangirls (and yes, screaming fanboys) when the new Filem come out and even after it's all been done for about a bulan atau so. Yeah, there are still girls running around in "I <3 guys that sparkle" t-shirts carring on about how great the twilight movie was at the movie theater in my town.

The world now has fewer trees than ever before, just because there where over millions of pieces of paper used for the twilight...

Bella Sawn.... Hmmm.

If my bestfreind has loved me, kissed me, tried to ruin my relationship with my boyfriend, i wouldn't be all cool with him loving my child.... including because she's young and his old.
Bella didn't react properly.
I wanted her to get really mad, i wanted Jacob to be banned from seeing Nessie, not have 10 minit go by, and his aloud to hold her again.

They say anda dont choose love, Cinta choose's you.

Why Can't I Stop Visiting the C.A.T. Spot?

Ever since its baru-baru ini creation I have not been able to stop visiting this spot (Not that it's a problem...haha). I decided to sit down and ponder and from my pondering came this list.

1. Everybody rates EVERYTHING.
I mean EVERYTHING. Nothing goes unrated and everyone always rates fairly.

2. The forum are always buzzing.
I absolutely Cinta visiting the forums. Someone is always there looking to chat and the komen-komen are sure to put a smile on my face.

I have noticed, that on the Twilight Series spot if a certain person adds decent content when a certain person is online, it gets rated very low. As much as I am a peminat of Twilight, it makes me wonder what it's all about anymore.

It shows how ridiculous the fanbase for it really is when people get bullied and bashed for having an opinion, atau adding good content at the wrong time because they don't like the person who has added it.

I'm sure i'm not the first person to mention this, but it has recently caught my attention alot. Spam uploaders who add thousandsof pictures ask everyone to rate there...

It's called "Daughter of Darkness" sejak V.C. Andrews.

This book was just aweful. It's about a 17 tahun old vampire girl named Lorelie Patio (Mary Sue alert!) whos only purpose in life is to be her Daddy's sex slave. This book is filled with shallow evaluations of beauty, anti feminism, poor morals, and disgusting turn of events.

Lorelie has three sisters who are manipulated and emotionally abused sejak their father. The worst thing about it is that it's never seen as a bad thing. It's disguised as fatherly love. None of the characters recognize the manipulation atau abuse. anda have to read between the...

This is under 'opinion' so please don't send any hate, it's just a though I had.

I have read various explainations both on this site and others about things antis point out as plot holes. (Ex: Renessme, Imprinting, Vampire Transformation, ect.) And I think that it's great that some people do think it through and don't just take it because it is what was written. What I don't understand is why anda should have too.

In my mind, when an penulis creates a story with a new atau different breed of creature they should explain it atleast to some degree.

I'm not saying she needs to explain every little thing,...
