Feminism..racism..by gosh darn golly my artikel-artikel are all so light and fluffy! I promise I'll try not to make a trend of controversial artikel topics, I just think that if an artikel doesn't get your head spinning in some way it isn't accomplishing it's job! Also, please don't take this as an anti-feminist article. The feminists I refer to in this artikel are only a select few of extremists, I in no way look down on feminists atau hate them in the slightest. Well, onto the article!
For a group of people that claim to be supporting of all women and their ventures, the mistreatment that the classic princesses very often get from them is rather surprising. To a majority of feminists, the women they are catering to is the new-age, I-can-do-it-all superwoman who don't need no man *hand snap*. They believe that all women should fit into that box and if they don't, they're deprived, misguided, and backwards. The Classic Princesses are what many feminists would think of as men-slaving monsters, whose only desire is to have a man, to cater to a man, to be loved sejak a man? Is that true? Pfft, is the sky green?
Let's look at Snow White. At the beginning of the film, she's Singing about wanting someone to Cinta her, which is innocent enough. Snow White is living in a situation where the only human she's ever been in contact with, atau at least only human she's been in contact with that we've seen, is her evil step mother. Snow White probably heard stories growing up about gallant knights and princes coming to save the princess and she wished that of herself. She wished to have someone who could tunjuk her Cinta and that isn't a problem whatsoever.
She meets him, is overjoyed, but it's not as if she's all over him and has Lost all self dignity. She remains composed and not at all men-obsesed like the media likes to paint classic princesses. Then she loses him and doesn't even dwell on it. She sings a song about it yet, but that's far from dwelling. She takes the loss rather well, moving on from it, thinking about where she'll find her seterusnya shelter and all in all thinking clearly-and after almost being murdered!
seterusnya let's look at Cinderella. Cinderella hardly even once mentions a desire of finding a man! Cinderella seems rather content without a man, if anything her wish is just to get out of her abusive household. When she does find Prince Charming at the ball, he seems to the one lebih infatuated with her than she is of him. Aurora's situation too is very similar to Snow. She's grown up all her life isolated, the only human contact being three old women, so her desires to find a prince and be whisked away are hardly irrational. She's even willing to give him up so that she can fulfill her duties, again, hardly man-slaving.
So it's rather obvious that the classics are anything but irrationally man obsessed, but the real soalan is if they were, would it be a problem? The answer to that soalan is no, in my opinion. The very mission, atau at least so called mission, of feminists is to give all women the freedom to make choices, have opinions, be equals. If a woman wants to be loved be a man, wants to be a housewife, that doesn't make her backwards and misguided, it makes her someone capable of having opinions for herself.
The Classic Princesses aren't wrong in wanting a man, neither is any woman who wants to be loved sejak a man. If that was their only desire it would be a bit of a problem, but each of the princesses are telah diberi desires and wishes outside of men which makes them well rounded and believable characters.
Feminists also claim that the only things Classics do is clean, and of course cleaning = brainless housewife who doesn't have a "real" profession. It's rather demeaning that the role of housewife is so often criticized sejak feminists, seeing as it's such hard work. So what if Snow White enjoys doing housework, that doesn't make her less of a woman atau make her less "valuable" in the "feminist cause". Women, the Classic Princesses, are allowed to want a man, allowed to enjoy doing housework, they're allowed to not be this superwoman whose 100% reliant on herself and only herself that the media so often pines over.
The Classic Princesses aren't Merida, they aren't Katniss, they aren't our culture's "ideal" woman that the feminist movement is really supporting, but they are just as important. We need to support women who kick keldai and don't apologize about it and we need to support women who are dainty and kick keldai through snide remarks that no one else understands because all in all a little lady loving never hurt nobody!

Allright, I have seen all those artikel-artikel before about the role Model but I would like to write one all together to be fair and to not be a single opinion, so If anda can please write who do anda think is the best role model. That's how I wan't to make the bahagian, atas 10 with the help of all you. Please I think Mulan deserves to be number one so tell me for others. anda can write for every one anda wan't, for example If we have a lot who think Belle is a good role model, she will be the second. If anda have soalan ask in comments, the final senarai (top ten) will be announced seterusnya week! Please vote, I will make and a tinjauan for that and remember, say why!
Since I am trying to make the Princess Of The bulan lebih popular, this is another one of my ideas. In the end of each bulan I'll post articles, based on the countdowns for songs, hairstyles and outfits. There everybody will have the chance to discuss whether they agree with the results, what corresponded to their expectations, and what they wish would have been different!
Once again, I will be using pictures for my articles. A few months back I would have made a detailed explanation about each result, but since the baru-baru ini changes, Fanpop has been Berlakon really weird. And yes, I don't like the option of Penulisan long paragraphs with text, while the pictured are all clustered in the bottom of the article! So under each picture I will be posting one comment, related to the result. So in case anda don't want your komen-komen telah diposkan in my articles, please contact me!
Here are the results of the POTM Hairstyles Countdown: ~*Rapunzel*~ (January 2013)! Enjoy and share your opinion!

I'll be starting a hair style competition soon in the polls! It will be similar to the outfit one we currently have going on. I want to make sure I get all of them for all the original DP Filem (no sequels). Different hair styles means anytime their hair looks different. For example, if Ariel has a bunga in her hair that is considered a hair style. So I need help finding them! Leave pictures of ones anda find so I can make sure I get them all. atau a senarai of maybe all your kegemaran princess' hair styles. Everyone is welcome to help. I appreciate it.
Thank you!
