Just a heads up there's going to be a lot of sad personal stuff brought up so if anda don't want to read this that's totally understandable.

Today's rewatch: Moana
Last time watched: July 6, 2017

How much did I like this movie when it came out?

I had some reservations about this movie because I didn't know for sure if it was going to be good especially since I hadn't seen too much stuff about it. But after hearing How Far I'll Go I knew I wanted to watch this movie even if it was just to hear that song on the big screen. My husband and I saw it for my birthday and even though the villain twist seemed a little meh to me, I still had an amazing time watching it and I loved the soundtrack so much that I downloaded all the songs that night for my flight the seterusnya hari (I was visiting family for the holidays). While on the flight I listened to the song on repeat for several hours (12-15 hours including layover). Then while visiting my kegemaran for Krismas I saw Moana again after only just seeing it a couple days before and then I bought the official soundtrack which, once again, was played on repeat when one of my sisters and I were on a 2 1/2 drive to my dad's. I ended up preordering the dvd and bluray and got promotional imej from the movie (just like with The Little Mermaid :P) and of course as soon as it was delivered I begged my husband to have us watch it that night.

On July 6, 2017, the last time I watched this movie, I had gotten a phone call from my mom. She told me that my dad, who had been diagnosed with cancer only a few months before and wasn't strong enough to get the treatment he needed, wasn't going to make it through the night. I was living in Indiana at the time with my husband while my entire family was in Washington so there was no way I was going to make it there in time to say goodbye. I didn't even see him after he was diagnosed, I thought there would be lebih time. I was getting married in September and his first grandchild was going to be born in November. I had been hoping and praying that he was going to be able to make it that long but instead we were going to lose him and I never got to see him atau say goodbye. After the phone call I began to sob on the livingroom couch. My husband was working that night so I was utama alone. I needed something to distract me from the pain so without thinking I put in Moana, laid on the sofa, kerusi panjang while clutching the stuffed dog he gave me for my 18th birthday, and just watched the movie. As the movie went on there were scenes where I was sobbing; Moana saying goodbye to her grandmother, Maui leaving Moana, and Moana giving back the heart. sejak that time the pain was starting to be too much until...Gramma Tala came to Moana. I suddenly felt this small comfort that even though my dad was leaving me forever, he would still be with me in my heart. I owe this movie so much for being there for me on the worst night of my life, I'll always be grateful to Moana, both the movie and the character.

Why I Cinta this movie so much:
I feel like a broken record saying this but I Cinta the animasi so much! The different designs of the characters and how they actually have realistic body types, the ocean, the 2D style animasi used for some of the scenes, Te Ka's lava, everything.

As I've berkata before, I Cinta the soundtrack for this movie. It's not as great as Aladdin's atau The Little Mermaid's but it at least has a better soundtrack than Frozen.

Baby Moana still puts a big smile on my face. I have a huge soft spot for cartoon Bayi like Littlefoot and Tarzan and Moana is on that senarai with how kind and adorable she is.

Something I Cinta about this movie is that this movie focuses on Moana actually accepting her role as future chief without Berlakon like it's a death sentence and having her save her people and her utama while working with a male companion without shoehorning a romance in. I Cinta Disney Filem with romance but it is refreshing to see a female lead without a romantic partner especially with all the Disney Filem we have with male leads with no Cinta interests.

There's a peminat theory that I like to consider to be canon about the hati, tengah-tengah of Te Fiti, how it kept Gramma Tala alive this whole time until she gave it to Moana, and it was because of the hati, tengah-tengah that Moana was able make it through her journey safely, including going beyong the terumbu, karang even after almost drowning the first time earlier that day.

I have a hard time understanding why people hate Hei Hei atau find him annoying. He was just a silly chicken! His reaction to being out in the middle of the ocean still gets me laughing every time.

I think my kegemaran easter egg in this movie has to be Baymax in the kakamora scene. It's just so funny to see that adorable friendly face in a sea (lol) of murderous pirates.

I still like the "if anda wear a dress and have an animal sidekick, you're a princess" quote, the same with his "if anda start Singing I'm gonna throw up" line. I don't consider it an insult for princesses atau take it too seriously, it's just fourth dinding breaking humor, which happens to be one of my kegemaran types of jokes in shows and movies.

In my opinion I think there were way too many jokes in this movie but at least most of them were genuinly funny. My kegemaran jokes were yu, ikan jerung head, Maui throwing Moana off the bot several times, and "Ever defeat a lava monster?"/"No, have you?" There's some jokes I think could have been left out like the tweeting joke.

One of the things I Cinta the most about Gramma Tala is she doesn't give a speech atau try to convince Moana to try again, instead she lets Moana decide for herself what to do seterusnya without making her feel ashamed of failing.

Princess:
I Cinta Moana as much as I Cinta the classic and renaissance princesses. There, I berkata it. She's not high on my senarai like Rapunzel is but I really don't think she deserves all the hate she gets. If anda don’t like her then whatever but I had a hard time seeing her as annoying atau a Mary Sue atau bland. It could just be me not seeing the big issues but either way I Cinta her. She was 12 on my senarai but now she's 9!

Movie:
As I berkata before I thought there were a little too many jokes and I thought the movie could do without the kakamora scene but I still had a fun time. This movie was 9 on my senarai but now it's 8

Rating: 7/10

Would I watch it again?
Yes!

seterusnya movie will be Brave/The Legend of Mor’Du!
charlotte
Charlotte
charlotte La Bouff was one of many characters in the movie The Princess and the Frog. charlotte was as wonderful as Tiana, and she really deserves to be analyzed.

Characteristics

Unlike Tiana, charlotte was a slightly spoiled and funny girl, crazy. charlotte was very romantic, which I usually don't like, but the crazy and confident gestures she displayed during the romance were enough to cover it up. Charlotte's father, Mr. La Bouff, spoiled her and did whatever she wanted because they were rich. charlotte grew up believing in fairy tales and true love, and she was confident that one hari love...

I wrote this artikel years lalu for the first ten princesses but now with Beyonce's baru-baru ini contribution to the Disney family in the 2019 Lion King, I figured it was a good time as any to do an updated senarai with the twelve current official princesses. I decided to add Esmeralda, Megara, Anna, and Elsa too! We just take a look through the Queen Bee's singles and see which one fits each princess based on the title, lyrics, Muzik video and general feel of the song.

Do anda know what's funny? Even though she's all about female empowerment and women being independent, Beyonce's just like virtually every...

Hello all! Many apologies for running a bit behind on this one. The holidays are always chaos incarnate.

Cinderella was our Princess of the bulan for December, and here is a collection of thoughts on why we adore her. Many thanks to those who telah dihantar comments!

I absolutely Cinta when Cindy's snarky side peeks through, like when she makes a quip about the "music lesson". It's adorable but also rounds out her character. <3 ~MaidofOrleans

She teaches me to DREAM BIG!!! ~deedragongirl

She is kind, hard-working, and a princess from my childhood that I still Cinta today. ~LMH5113

I used to give into the hype and I still like her but I've recently realized that she's not that strong atau effective of a villain. I've never seen the Angelina Jolie live action movie and quite honestly I don't think I ever will. This is all based on the original Sleeping Beauty.

Now, Maleficent definitely has the classic villain personality (sinister, petty, arrogant) and aesthetic. (she can turn into a dragon, and green api, kebakaran is cool) She's one of the most quotable and meme-able villains in all of Disney. In fact, I think she's the one who really perfected the look and feel of a "Disney Villain"...

I'm actually looking ke hadapan to watching this a little lebih than I did when I had to watch Maleficent. This remake may not live up to the standards of the original but personally it's always been enjoyable to watch.

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
The first time I watched Cinderella I did like it and there were some changes I liked but then there were some changes I really had to question. Even with the problems I have with this movie I still like to watch it every now and then.

How much of this movie have I forgotten:

Since the...

This is another sequel I haven't seen in forever. Longer than forever, actually. I would say I'm excited to watch this but after Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World I'm not looking ke hadapan to watching this one.

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
The beginning of this story is exactly the same as the one about Pocahontas 2; I wasn't into the original that much when I was a kid, but then this cartoon Disney movie with familiar faces came out, begged my dad to get me a copy, fin. But unlike Pocahontas 2 I actually did...

Here's the artikel for Pocahontas!

I know in the past I've made komen-komen about how I don't like this movie because it's been berkata that the tale of Pocahontas saving John was a lie and I've also berkata I can't stand Pocahontas and John together because it's gross Pocahontas was aged up for this movie. However I will watch this movie and just enjoy it without thinking about those things.

By now anda should all know what I write about in these artikel-artikel so I'll just go ahead and start!

Tonight's rewatch: Pocahontas

Now with all the issues, people have with Disney, one of the films that have legitimate grievances is Pocahontas. And as anda can imagine, because there ARE legit grievances to be had with Pocahontas, sites like Tumblr have an absolute field hari with it. Personally, the lebih research I did on the situation around this film, the lebih I was actually fascinated sejak it.

I know it's easy to write this movie off but how it came to be is a lot lebih nuanced than anda think. It actually was gonna be a story closer to what happened in history but then Jefferey Katzenberg's overwhelming desire to get another...

Though not nearly as much as Merida and other revival princesses,Tiana is occasionally bashed for contributing to Disney's current trend of "meta", "woke" commentary with her whole "hard work, anda can't just wish" shtick. While this does irritate me, I try to separate film makers' intentions from the actual context of the movie and the character.

In the first act of the film, she's portrayed as diligent and determined but she's not as in your face about it. For the most part, her thing is "partying and dancing just isn't my for me". She's not insistent, condescending atau critical of others for...

As asteriamalfoy recently reported on the club wall, it appears that Moana will soon become the newest member of the Disney Princess lineup. The club's reception to the news is a mixed bag, which is the latest example of how the general Fanpop opinion (namely, this club's opinion) doesn't always match that of the internet. It's interesting why that is, and I will attempt to find the reason here.

Before going forward, be aware that everything that I consider an "opinion" of Fanpop and/or the internet is a generalization. True, there are some users on both this website and the rest of the worldwide...
