Okay so this is really late and I'm putting it up kinda late in the night, on Thanksgiving, no less. But I finally rewatched Brave tonight! I got a subscription to Disney+ at the start of this bulan and I finally set up my account on my mom's tv (if I'm going to leech off her Netflix and Hulu, she can at least be able to use my Disney+) and my niece put on Brave, one of her kegemaran movies, and we all sat down and watched it together :)
Today's rewatch: Brave
Last time watched: August 2017
How much did I like this movie when it came out?
So when this movie was advertised I was excited to watch because it looked like it was going to be a really epic movie but then when I watched it in theaters I was disappointed that it turned out to be a princess version of Brother Bear. I did like it enough to at least ask for a dvd copy for Krismas and watch it every now and then.
Why I Cinta this movie so much:
Little Merida was so darn cute!!!!!
One thing I Cinta about Pixar lebih than Disney is how much detail they put into animation. Like Merida's hair, for example. It looks like real hair! Heck I had a friend who has hair almost exactly like Merida's (only not as long and all over the place)
Fergus is one of my kegemaran Disney dads; he supports his daughter's interest in archery and they're so close. And I Cinta his interactions with Elinor, even though they had an arranged marriage they still enjoy each other's company and we can see how much Fergus loves Elinor, especially when he's so excited to see her again after she changed back. One thing I enjoy the most about his and Elinor's relationship is that it kinda reminds me of my relationship with my husband. I'm not as strict as Elinor is but Fergus teasing his wife throughout the movie is exactly the way my husband teases me
I Cinta the songs played in the movie, both the songs sung in the background and the songs sung sejak the characters themselves.
Something that I'm realizing about this movie that I Cinta so much is that for Elinor and Merida, neither of them are wrong but that doesn't mean they're both in the right either. Merida wasn't ready for marriage, which is understandable because not everyone is ready for Cinta atau marriage in their teens but then she knew that there would be a war and was pretty okay with that while Elinor could understand having reservations about arranged marriage and knows that if the marriage doesn't happen all the clans would go to war again but waited until the middle of the movie to decide to break tradition. They both rehearsed what they wanted to say to each other but it is believable that it's hard to get the words out, especially when you're trying to talk to a mother who has been stern your whole life atau you're trying to talk to a daughter who is lebih interested in being like her father than her mother. They both handled the situation wrong and even though they realize it too late it's still believable.
After watching this again I can't see where the hate Merida gets for not being Brave atau always needing saving comes from. She did her best against Mor'du, having tried using a weapon on him lebih than once before choosing to run away because, anda know, he's an unkillable murder machine. If something atau someone is coming after anda fast and if anda can't fight it/them without getting killed then anda run away, fight atau flight. And while she does need to be rescued lebih than once in her movie it seems unfair to give her so much hate for it because if anda look at the banner for this club, anda would see a lot of princesses on this senarai who needed saving at least once atau twice and yet Merida is the one who gets the most recognition for that.
I did enjoy the Lords' scenes and the triplets' scenes, I thought they were all so funny even with their minor roles.
Princess:
While it is understandable that she doesn't want to be forced into getting married, she doesn't take any real responsibility for what she did to Elinor until it's too late and she does feed her mother some questionable pastry. BUT I did find her enjoyable to watch throughout the movie and I loved her in the scenes when she shot arrows for her own hand. She was 14 on my senarai but now she's 13! (sorry, Aurora)
Movie:
I'm still not a big peminat of this movie, actually enjoying this movie and yet feeling a little bored at the same time, however I'm going to alih this movie from being 14 on my senarai to 10!
Rating: 6/10
Would I watch it again?
Yes!
