Elphaba is a great example for that. But maybe for some people that is true.

I do believe that having mercy and kindness is something you should utilize for sensitive people; however when it comes down to it faith gets you no where. You can "belive" in something all you want like "Oh, she/he won't do such and such, I believe they are really a good person." When that isn't the case, because, although kindness can get you places, being rude/threading do wonders just the same. Really it's a split road, but having kindness and faith will NOT get you rewarded directly. I just think it's curtesy to show some kindness so you can put a smile on someone's face, that is the only reward. You are nice to people you like, because you want to make them happy, which in turn is your reward. So if the question was "Do you believe kindness will earn you rewards?" Then I would answer "On the fence" or "Yes" Since faith is there I must choose "No" because though kindness may fulfill something possibly, faith is ludicrous in thinking.

I think Cinderella's thinking was similar to the idea of karma- what goes around comes around. and I do believe that, if not here then in the afterlife. Part of what Christianity teaches is that God blesses His people, even on earth, so I kind of agree there.

Oh, definitely! One way or another, the good people will be rewarded - even if it's after their death.

Kindness is it's own reward.

If you do it just because you expect to get something out of it, a) You're doing it for the wrong reasons, b) You'll likely get disappointed because it won't work out the way you want 100% of the time. However, I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, eve if it's not the one or ones you expect.

If you're not kind to other's there's no way you can get rewarded at all, having faith and optimism can get you rewarded and been kind to other's, no matter their color, gender, or life situation.
