I believe that it's BOTH the parent's and kid's responsibility to make sure that they stay safe while on Facebook. Therefore, there shouldn't really be an age limit (although, it might be weird seeing a 5-year-old's profile).

I got mine when I had just turned 12. I don't think there's any point in having an age limit... if your parents think you're too young, that's fine but if you're responsible and stuff there's no point in having an age limit. And anyways people who are younger than 10 probably wouldn't even want Facebook.
