What is Plagiarism?
Many people think of plagiarism as copying another's work, atau borrowing someone else's original ideas. But terms like "copying" and "borrowing" can disguise the seriousness of the offense:
According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means
1. to steal and pass off (the ideas atau words of another) as one's own
2. to use (another's production) without crediting the source
3. to commit literary theft
4. to present as new and original an idea atau product derived from an existing source.
In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward. (2)
If the authorship of a paper atau other document is not provided, cite the penulis using the word "Anonymous" (3)
As a writer, I have found my stuff telah diposkan on other websites without my permission, and sometimes without so much as a mention that it was MY article... atau a link back to the original. This ticks me off, and it is illegal to do so.
Not citing the copyright owner is theft, pure and simple. Besides, it is just the right thing to do.(4)
All it takes is when anda find the picture add it straight to Fanpop and have the page still up of who it belongs to. Write their name/screen name and what site it's from and this can clear up a lot of awkward soalan of "did anda make this?" and unhappiness of people finding their work uncredited on other sites. (5)
Six leading academic publishers berkata Wednesday that they had filed a copyright-infringement lawsuit against a copy-shop owner in Austin, Tex., who sells packages of course materials online.
