Chapter 2: "God's Lost Child"
Mason reached the fuhrer's office, just in time for a meeting with the generals. He took a kerusi, tempat duduk outside, and waited for a good jam and a half. One sejak one, all generals exited the room. Mason stood up after he was certain that all of them had gone. He walked slowly into the room, and walked up to Mustangs desk.
"I got checked sejak a train robber, today."
mustang looked up from his work, and sighed.
"You always knew how to handle things, so where is he?" Mason scratched his head, and sighed.
"He got away. He used a dirty little trick, sejak pulling me under the train." mustang got up out of his kerusi, tempat duduk suddenly.'
"UNDER the train?" H cursed under his breath, before continuing. "That is a dirty trick... Well, Mason. I'll have anda on duty looking for him, for the time being. I want this man caught. He'll just end up hurting innocent people. When anda find him, I want anda to kill him." Mason's eyes widened.
"KILL?! B-but, anda know I've never killed anybody! I CAN'T kill anybody!" mustang just turned to him again, and shrugged.
"Well, he has to die sometime, doesn't he? Just like anda and me. I've telah diberi anda your orders, now I must work." Mason took the signal, and was escorted out sejak Mustangs personal guards.

Sometime later, in the middle of the night, Mason was patrolling the streets for the train killer. Mason was having a hard time staying awake, and was falling asleep. He kept nodding off, making awkward noises when he woke himself up again. Just the, Mason heard footsteps getting steadily louder. They were still some distance away, but he could still tell that hei were running from something. He held his ground, until he saw a small silhouette in the distance, slightly to his right. He squinted as he advanced, closing the distance even lebih rapidly, until he was sprinting full force toward the pet-tit figure. He stopped when he saw her face. She was wearing blood red boots, and looked to be around 14, Masons age, but taller than him(Which pissed him off.) She had long blond locks,that covered one eye, and was wearing a cut-off camisole.Mason stared her in the face, and saw the green eyes. He knew exactly who it was, and who she was being chased by.
"Quick!" Mason grabbed her wrist, dragged her to the side, and shoved her intro a small alcove in the wall. The military officers passed by, and asked no questions, one advantage to being a state alchemist. He let her stand up when they were five minit away. Mason looked at her belt, and immidiatley decided that he shouldn't mess with her. He surveyed the area around there, and ran across the alleyway. He grabbed hr wrist, and shoved her into a pile of boxes, which led to a door. She pulled the latch, and crawled into the room beyond. Mason stayed behind to look for the military, but nobody came. Mason slipped into the doorway, and moved the boxes back into place. Once in, he flipped a switch, and the whole room lit up. She was panting hard, as she flopped onto the dusty bed. She looked at him with tired eyes, and he nodded. It was only natural to want to rest after all of that. Mason stayed up to keep watch, and figure it all out in his head. What on earth is charlotte Wintercrest doing in this part of central? She would never come to a place where the security is so tight... Unless... Mason continued to think to himself, until he lazily let himself drift off into a nice deep sleep.
