Well I'm not going to do your homework for anda if that's what anda were hoping, besides I read the book a few years lalu so I don't remember the details; but think of it this way....

If it wasn't set in the 18th century how would that affect the story? If it took place in the future what technology could Jim have that would have changed the story (cell phones, better/faster boats, etc.). Would there even be pirates? Would Jim be lebih atau less willing to sertai them? If it took place in the future what medical atau weaponry advancements could they have that would have killed atau saved some of the characters?

Hope that gives anda some ideas to start with.
