Come on, they put their hearts into it making something that they probably love to eat, and would like you to enjoy what they have done. I like to enjoy people's hospitality. I might not like the food, but out of respect and gratitood, I'd still eat it.

Unless I had a severe allergy to what they were serving, I would force myself to eat it. It's only polite. I wouldn't want to make them feel uncomfortable or make them think that I didn't appreciate their hospitality.
