My absolute favorite. One small part of my living room is dedicated to my favorite genre and the stuff I own ❤️

I don't know how to answer this question... It seems every time an interesting idea for a horror movie is introduced I get temporary amnesia and forget every other horror movie I've watched has disappointed me and then get pumped to watch the movie... only to be let down. I guess it depends on whether I'm being asked before or after watching a movie lol.

In general I like horror and I like it as a concept.

Unfortunately most horror movies released recently rely heavily on jump scares and excessive gore or things that people are commonly afraid of (ghosts/demons/ dolls, clowns, etc). And these things can all be done well but a lot of the time they come across as cheap. And sometimes it can come across as a bit edgy too.

Which is a shame, really, because I do like horror in general. I like several older horror movies and thrillers and Japanese horror appeals to me a lot. And I do genuinely like ghost stories even if I don't find them particularly frightening.

I just kind of wish there were less horror movies that relied on cheap thrills and more that really get into your head and make you think about them long after the credits roll, like how The Twilight Zone and old Alfred Hitchcock films were.
And Junji Ito's work but that's a totally different medium so I guess it's not fair to compare.
