In all seriousness, I am so so hyped. Might finally be an end to six years of rubbish governance, climate inaction and the stripping of public services. Might even get Internet speeds that drag Australia into the modern era if Labor wins, isn't that the dream?

I'm hyped for the 2019 European parliament election... probably not what the question was about, but still

What the actual fuck. Feels like the 2016 US election all over again. Opposite outcome to ALL the pre-polls... still within the margin of error, but was cautiously optimistic with the thought "who's gonna vote for a party that's backstabbed three leaders in six years, made our internet speeds worse than Kazakhstan's and promised to allow the destruction of the Great Barrier Reef for the sake of a coal mine?"

What terrifies me is that now - in the UK, US, Australia and much of Europe - we have the wrong leadership at the one of the worst points in history to have the wrong leadership. I'm not overstating this: we are on the precipice of the decade of disruption; the age of automation; and the last decade of positively dealing with the climate catastrophe (the last 30 years we sat in our hands) This coming decade will be crucial in human history... Whether we fly or fall or that precipice is the responsibility of each individual voter in these nations.

On a more personal note, my generation just got shafted. Looks like I'm never gonna be able to afford a house. We're just going to be running on a treadmill going nowhere for the rest of our working lives. But hey, that's not impotant coz apparently baby boomers need more ridiculous tax breaks on their five investment properties.

Congrats to Murdoch media empire for another election win! The Opposition Leader didn't accept Rupert Murdoch's invitation to a little lunch date in NY to have the usual "do this or we'll make sure you won't form government" chat (as is customary for every Opposition Leader ) and it was all-out media war on Labor after that. Who needs reptilian overlord conspiracies when you have Murdoch? :')
